Sheila Maitlen: So, Dr. Klein, what is cool sculpting?

Dr. Lorrie Klein: Cool sculpting is a very interesting technique that uses cold to freeze fat cells, and it freezes them to the right temperature so it doesn't hurt skin but it destroys the cells so that they don't come back again and the fat is permanently gone.

Sheila Maitlen: So, Dr. Klein, some of your patients might ask, "Doctor, does cool sculpting really work?"

Dr. Lorrie Klein: It really does work, Sheila. Cool sculpting has been around now for over three years and in the beginning it was questionable. We weren't sure. The studies looked good but we had to try it for ourselves and now, three years later, we got two machines and everywhere it's being done. So, it really does work. It's pretty amazing.

Sheila Maitlen: So, who might be a candidate for the cool sculpting procedure?

Dr. Lorrie Klein: Well, people who are candidates for cool sculpting tend to be people who have areas of fat that they just can't get rid of with exercise or diet. If you're too thin and all you have is loose skin, it's not going to work. If you're really really overweight, it's probably not going to work, but for all those people in between it works well.
