Dr. Nima Shemirani: So today we have a client who's never had lip augmentation done before. You had mentioned a little bit of what you were kind of interested in about your lips and what you didn't like.

Lilly: The top lip is just a little bit smaller than the bottom lip, so I kind of want them to be even.

Dr. Nima Shemirani: Good, OK. And we can do that with fillers and we'll make it nicely in proportion. We want the upper lip to be almost as big as the bottom lip but not quite. We want the upper lip to stick out just a little bit more than the bottom lip. So the first thing we'll do is we'll just start numbing the area with some topical numbing medicine and then wait about 10, 15 minutes and we'll start the injection.

Lilly: Perfect.

Dr. Nima Shemirani: OK. An extra 30 seconds of holding pressure avoids two weeks of bruising. OK, we just completed the lip line along the upper lip. Now we're going to work on plumping that upper lip up. Just open your mouth for me, please? Great. Smile. Good. The upper lip is now obviously bigger than the bottom lip. So we're just going to put a little bit in the bottom lip to make it just more in proportion.

So we just finished the lip injections. As you can see, there isn't much bruising at all. The shape of the upper lip is still maintained with a nice cupid's bow, which is in the middle. And two fluffy pillows for the bottom lip to kind of give it that pouty look. And I think after all the swelling comes down, it's going to look fantastic.
