Dr. Richard Fitzpatrick: Gray hair, white hair, blonde hair, and sometimes even red hair can be unresponsive to treatment, but white hair and gray hair are definitely unresponsive. We are actually working on a project now to add a chromophore, which is a color, and little nanoparticles to push it down the hair follicle.

So, that we can target those nanoparticles, instead of the hair, and kill the hair by having heat go from those tiny particles into the hair follicle. But right now, we don’t really have a laser answer for that, because we don’t have the capability of targeting white hair.
