Dr. Ronald Shelton: CoolSculpting by Zeltiq is a non-invasive, fat reduction technique. Over this protective skin dressing, you're now seeing the device being applied to the patient's stomach. If it's this one area, it will take one hour. If there are multiple areas, it's one hour per zone.

So the fat is now being drawn into the device, and the patient will be allowed to sit and rest comfortably during the entire treatment. So now that the fat is drawn into the machine, it is chilling the fat for this entire treatment, the fat cells will die, and then the body will resorb those fat cells. So without surgery and no downtime, patients are able to go back to work and their functions without risks.

The patient's lying comfortably, the state of the art technology is enabling treatment to be done without interference by cell phone reception or electronic devices. So people can remain busy, or they can choose to watch movies that are downloaded to the flat screen TV. And now that the hour is done, the device is removed, and you can see that the fat is formed in a pouch, but this is temporary, and after about five to ten minutes, is reduced by itself, and the numbness and the coolness of the skin will go away.

There may be minimal bruising, but again, there is no downtime, and people are able to go back to work and continue on with their functions right away.
