Dr. Farhan Taghizadeh: Hi. I'm Farhan Taghizadeh with New Mexico Facial Plastics. Today I wanna answer a question that's on many people's minds as to whether facial micro-currence work the same as a face lift. Micro-current technology is a new technology that's come to market. And some people believe that it can do some tightening of the soft tissue in the face and the neck. In my experience, the micro-current technology is very good if you're using it for healing, specifically soft tissue and bone after you've had a surgical procedure. However, in terms of its utility when you're doing it for, using it for facial and neck tightening, my experience has been that the results are very incremental. In other words, if you're looking to look 10 to 15 years younger, it's my belief that this technology is not going to do that much for you. In my practice, we try to develop programs that are age specific. So for example, if someone is having a facial rejuvenation procedure with me, we may use micro-current technology after the procedure to help improve the process of healing. However, as an isolated technology, I really have never found micro-currence to be helpful in terms of giving patients an individual long-lasting results in terms of facial and neck rejuvenation. Thanks so much.
