Using traditional techniques of fillers often leads to bruising. Using this new, innovative, blunt cannula technique, bruising really is a thing of the past.

The blunt cannula technique, in contrast to traditional fillers, only makes an injection through the skin one time. The blunt cannula is then passed under the skin and is directed and guided in a very fine and sculpting manner to the areas that need to be filled. The advantage of this is that you can get to all the areas that you want to fill with any filler that you like, whether it be Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse, or any other filler on the market. You avoid traumatizing vessels, traumatizing nerves, and it minimizes, in most cases eliminates, any bruising at all which is really tremendous for our busy patients on the go and who can't really afford any downtime or bruising. You can even do two, sometimes even three, different treatment areas with one injection port, and it really is incredible.

I prefer this technique because it allows me to, number one, cause minimal downtime of pain and discomfort for my patients. Number two, I get a more precise fill of the areas that I traditionally sculpt with the old techniques by using the cannula, and I could sculpt the filler and use gentle fanning techniques back and forth.

With the blunt cannula, I've been able to fill all the regular areas that we used to do with traditional fillers such as the smile lines, the depressions around the corners of the mouth, cheek lifts, mouth augmentation, brow lifts, and filling in hollow temples.

My patients that have undergone fillers with blunt cannulas have all given me tremendous, positive feedback. Most of them have flat-out told me that they'll never go back to traditional techniques again because of the decreased bruising, swelling, and the immediate results that they were able to achieve. If you're interested in learning more about the blunt cannula technique or having your injectable fillers done utilizing the blunt cannula technique, please don't hesitate to contact me here at Pacific Specialists.
