Hello doctors, I've begun vbeam for 6 week old hypertrophic scarring caused by laser resurfacing to the eye area. The second treatment is scheduled 10 days after the first treatment. How often and how many is the norm for achieving maximum benefits? Will this be complete when the scar is colourless/flat? And then would I wait 12-18 months for laser resurfacing options? I'm worried having ongoing and frequent treatments with possible bruising will interfer with my life.
About 3 months ago I had surgical complications from a tummy tuck which left me with a lot of scarring. A dermatologist recently started me on Vbeam, but wants to do it every two weeks. Is that too aggressive? Is it safe to do so often? My scars look even darker. After a few vbeam treatments, we then will move to the Halo laser for resurfacing. Would love to get thoughts on this approach.
I've been reading that vbeam is the gold standard for rosacea laser treatment and much more effective than IPL. This is what most/all doctors say. However, when I read the reviews on vbeam, there are dozens of horror stories of scarring, no result or hyper pigmentation (that seem permanent being still around years later still). Why is there such a gulf in opinions from the doctors and users on vbeam?
Can you tell me what could have gone wrong and can it be fixed? My skin texture has changed and I have scarring. I had some acne scarring prior but not like this.
Can they heal in time? Had vbeam done twice, once in june and once in october. He said the settings were moderate, 7 whatever you call it, joules? Well anyways I'm left with red marks that are slightly indented. I'll share some pics this time! I threw in some before pics as well.
The blisters I sustained are small and appear to be closed. I am currently applying aquaphor ointment and spraying mineral water on the area as opposed to agitating with a regular washing. How fast should the blisters heal and can they scar? The photos are Day 3 since the treatment.
I got a vbeam treatment 3 days ago and currently have some pinkness and a couple bruises. I took ibuprofren the day before, not learning until afterward that this was inadvisable. Will this increase any chance of having permanent damage (redness, pinkness etc.)? Or did it simply lower my resistance to bruising? Thanks.
10 mo ago I got my 3rd vbeam to treat mild redness for seb derm. It left me with very red/aggravated skin. 2 derms afterwards said it was too aggressive and caused scarring. While its improved, progress plateaued and its still a lot redder than before, with more broken capillaries. It flushes intensely when I smile. I currently alternate between pimecrolimus+metronidazole , and zorvye + rosacea triple gel. I used Desonide previously. Will I ever get my old skin back? How long will it take?
