Hi. Im 34. I've had 2 babies. My stomach was perfect after my first. My second gave me a lot of stretchmarks just around the navel. Can this procedure help not only repare my new outtie but also remove some loose skin around the navel? My strechmarks make my skin look so old and crepey. I've had 3 Morpheus8, 3 PRP and a bunch of Ultrasound skin tightening treaments.
I had my babies 18 months apart, both over 8lbs. I developed a 3-4 finger separation that has closed to about a 2, and an umbilical hernia that was repaired w/o mesh in 2016. I would like to improve the look of my stomach and belly button and close the separation and repair the hernia. Im 34 years old, 54 and 120lbs. I recently saw a PS for a consultation for a tummy tuck and he said I wasnt a candidate for a tummy tuck as I dont have enough fat or skin laxity. What are my options?
I'm 32 years old had a umbilical hernia at birth my mom kept telling me it's just extra skin but i feel otherwise now years later doing research I'm having the same problems as some of the symptoms like constipation and bloating feel heavy at times and stomach distention
I have a small incisional hernia that just appeared inside my bellybutton. It's retractable & goes in on it's own when I'm lying down. Hardly noticeable. I had 1 surgery in my life, laproscopic gallbladder removal (7 yrs ago). I'm concerned about going to a general surgeon for this & losing bellybutton. I also worry about radically changing appearance of bellybutton. Is this something a plastic surgeon should do instead? Should I put off surgery in general since it is so small/no symptoms?
I had umbilical hernia repair 12 days ago, bandages are off, and dissolvable stitches are still in my belly button but now I realize my surgeon put sutures inside my belly button, under the skin. It's very painful. I'm a stomach sleeper and the pinching & squeezing of the sutures is uncomfortable. My navel skin is tight/red. No other swelling or hardness but my belly button is hard, thick & pink. I realize this might be residual swelling but this is being full, activity, and sleeping painful.
I had an umbilical hernia repair w/sutures. Surgeon told me he'd make a 1 inch incision and repair the defect w/one stitch. Instead he flipped my belly button skin inside out, turned my deep innie into an outtie, and left extraordinarily painful sutures there. It also looks like he moved my belly button up. He never communicated this, said umbilical hernia repair would be simple and non-invasive. Why isn't the actual risk cosmetic & internal risk of this communicated to patients? The sutures in my umbilicus are incredibly painful 1 mth out
I had hernia repair surgery on a small hernia which I always thought was just an outie and I had a general surgeon do a hernia repair and he also removed excess skin from the top . I had no mesh put in . It almost looks like my belly button was just flipped inside out and still sticking up. The top of it is very hard where the stitches are ... i really thought it would look like an innie and I'm really upset and want to know if it just needs time to soften up and go in?! Thanks !!!!
I'm 18 and was born with gastroschisis and a scar that's almost tear drop shapes and rather deep. I have been looking into getting a revision or some kind of umbilicalplasty to give me something reminiscent of a normal looking belly button, what are the chances that insurance would cover, if any, of the costs?
I feel like something is wrong. I didn't have any of these pains before today during healing...I bent over this morning and felt like I was being stabbed with a knife right above my belly button. Then throughout the entire day they just randomly come. I reached to scratch my leg or put my seatbelt on or just standing doing nothing...it seems strange. Should I be worried? My hernia was really tiny and only took a stich to repair. I don't feel like I should be having pain like this at this point.
