I am due to have a abdominal hysterectomy with vertical incision in a couple of month's time. I have asked about cosmtic surgery or Tummy Tuck at same time, and the consultant has said he will look at it, but not definitely agreed. What cosmetically could be done with a vertical incision? Is it possible to have a Tummy Tuck with a vertical incision? I am worried that when they remove my enlarged uterus (looks about 6 months pregnant) due to multiple large fibroids, I will be left with lots of excess skin and saggy belly. I am also trying to lose some more weight prior to surgery as well. I've lost 30 lbs so far.
My PS says I will need a 1 1/2 vertical incision because there is not enough skin to get past the old BB. He says it will not be connected to horizontal incision but free floating in center of my ab. I 'm afraid this will look unsighly. My only alternative is to float my existing BB which won't address fully the laxity in upper abs. What to do? I am 70, fit 140 lbs, 5'8.
I am 6 years post-tummy tuck and have recently found out I need a hysterectomy. Unfortunately my uterus is quite enlarged into abdomen due to a fibroid and my doctor is concerned they may have to do a vertical incision. What is the likelihood I may need an abdominoplasty revision. My diastasis was very bad and the plastic surgeon performed a miracle fixing it. Ive been very happy with the results and aghast at the thought theyll be ruined.
I had a tummy tuck with muscle repair on October 11. I had an extreme amount of loose skin. Even though my scar was higher than I would have liked and I had a small vertical incision as wellI was I flat right out of surgery. As time has gone on this bulge seems to be getting larger. It also has a butt shape. What could be the causes? How do I fix this? Feeling very disappointed in my results.
In September i had to have an emergency surgery to patch up my colon. The surgery in my opinion destroyed my stomach. Due to the vertical incision, the scar is slightly depressed and causes my stomach to look like a butt. My lower abdomen on both sides are very poofy and pouch like that are slightly tender. I was told it was my fat and muscles. I also had a pelvic fracture and noticed that my v cut is way different on both sides. I do wear an abdominal binder and started doing an workouts.
7 years ago I had a vertical inscsion from above my belly button to my csection scar. I had a mesh hernia repair by my belly button 7 year ago. Another mesh hernia repair above my belly button 1 year ago. The mesh placed last year partially torn away leaving a new 2.5cm hernia and developed an 8cm hernia with unobstructed bowels slightly below the mesh that was placed 7 year ago. I really want a strong flat tummy again and want this to be last surgery. I am 35-40lbs from my ideal weight.
I have 7.8cm diastasis recti & recently had umbilical hernia repair with mesh by a general surgeon. After the procedure he informed me he could repair my diastasis with a vertical incision and tightening the muscles. This procedure has a much higher rate of being covered by my insurance (Tricare) than a tummy tuck. Is this a good idea or should I suck it up & pay 10k for a tummy tuck? I understand I will have a scar up my abdomen and I would have a plastic surgeon remove any excess skin.
The muscle repair line is not straight from ribs to belly button. It deviates to the side of my button creating an unnatural Look. I am 3 mnths post full tummy tuck and muscle repair. I was thin and shapely before with excess skin from pregnancy and don't mind having the vertical dent if it's straight behind belly button, not to side. I see my doctor in two weeks but hope someone will know if this is normal or a problem. My stomach is still VERY hard and skin tight, very little swelling though.
Hi. I am questioning the consultation I had recently about a tummy tuck. I have minor distasis from my 3 pregnancies. I'm currently at 12% body fat and very fit, I am 5'4, but have a long torso. I was told because of my long torso it's likely I will need a vertical incision as well. And he said there was no way to even give me an idea of how long that vertical cut would be until he was in there and doing it. I measured the distance from the top of my belly button to my scar is 5.5 inches.
