Seroma after initial abdominoplasty 2 yrs ago. Fluid removed over the course of 6 wks. Lipo 1 year later (PS wouldn't do both at same time). Developed fluid superficially, removed. Revision done this December explore bursa. PS didn't find anything. Tacked down skin to remove neg space. However, now 3 months 2nd surgery and again fluid has developed. Looking for add'l info as PS not very helpful. Recommend MRI or CT for best visualization and planning. US showed multiple large fluid pockets.
I have recently (4 weeks ago, precisely) had an abminoplasty approach to recurrent ventral hernia and umbilical hernia repair - mesh and trunk lipo the operation has been successful but I have been left with numbness to my right outer thigh and a intense burning pain causing me to limp. My GP says it maybe from swelling and pressure on my L3 disc which is a nerve responsible for that part of the thigh. He says I need a MRI to rule out a possible blood clot. Could I please get a second opinion? Thx, Sally
I had an abdominoplasty 8 months ago. MRI shows small hernia over belly button and small seroma above belly button. Dr did not mention it showed significant pseudobursa. Does this mean it's not a Pseudobursa? I got a second opinion from another Dr and he wants to cut another incision (another scar?!) above belly button to do liposuction and remove the seroma. I'm very confused as to what is the best course of action. Stomach is very tender, swollen with shooting pains above the belly button.
Had a full tt and mr 12 weeks ago. This week noticed a bulge and separation from belly button down. Surgeon confirmed this but is not keen to fix due to weak tissue and thinks it might happen again. He said if it spreads further he can do a mesh repair which Im not keen on. Is it another big operation to go back in to fix? As big as tummy tuck? Unsure what to do. Should I see someone else?
Hi, a tummy tuck question to repair 3 inch diastasis recti after 4 pregnancies. One of my surgeon wanted to do an MRI or CAT scan before doing the surgery. He thinks my fascia is too thinned out for successful surgery. 1, will MRI / CAT scan help determine this? 2, If my fascia is too thinned out am I helpless? Thank you.
I'm a 20 y/old female (5'4, 115lbs) that had emergency surgery 8 months ago due to a problem with my ileostomy, which I've had for 10 years without previous complications (I have IBD). Before the surgery, my abdomen was flat but now it bulges out significantly. An MRI found DRAM with a defect of 4.2cm in diameter containing nonobstructed small bowel loops at the level of the umbillicus. Do I have any options that could improve the diastasis and bulging? (my ileostomy won't be reversed)
I had a tummy tuck 13 years ago and have never felt right. Recently my dr had me get an MRI because she thought she felt a tumor in my upper left side. The mri showed clips in my stomach and noted the lump was probably scar tissue from my tummy tuck.
Last year I had an MRI on my back. Other than a blood tumor on my spine everything is normal. But I'm in terrible pain everyday, lower back, hips and sciatic nerve hurt all the time. I'm wondering if because of pregnancies my abdominal muscles are weak and I'm overcompensating with my back for support. I have about 30 extra pounds to loose and a lot of hanging skin in my lower belly. I have strong abs in my upper tummy but I can't even feel them at all under my naval. Will TT help with this?
After an ultrasound and mri I met with my doctor to find out I had a hernia less than 1 inch and the mass seems to be dead fat cells that have not been eliminated through my lymph system. When I had my consultation I made a point several times to mention that I had lymphedema on my lower right side due to a motorcycle accident in 2004. I was told this would not be a problem. Now I am left with a hard mass of dead fat about the size of a baseball.
