I had a tummy tuck 8 weeks ago, when i take off the compress for a few hours it seems and feels like i'm swelling and don't have the same countour shape as i have right after taking off the garment. Is this going to change, i'm going to have the same shape i have with the garment on?
I had an extended tummy tuck in May 2022, so Im right around the six month mark and Ive been having pain on the right side where the hourglass curve starts all the way to the belly button and it feels like nerve pain. I also feel like there may be a little bit more fat left over in that area. If I wear full compression or a belly wrap and everything is kept completely flat, the pain goes away. If I wear a compression tank top, like my doctor has instructed, the pain comes back. Is this normal?
The more reading I do of physician sites and reviews, the more I've noticed that there are major differences in compression guidelines post-op: some do a compression garment schedule for 6 weeks but some offices opt to limit their use or not even use at all, stating that it can increase the risk of blood clots. I'm just surprised at the inconsistency: does the American Board of Plastic Surgery not have specific recommendations on compression garments post-op? Is it just doctor preference?
I've done a lot of research on Tummy Tuck and about the doctor I have choosen to do the procedure. I'm feeling great and excited about it. I only have one concern; my surgeon says he does not use binders after surgery. He feels they don't do much and that they are over used by other doctors. What exactly is the purpose of a binder after a Tummy Tuck and is what he says true, that they don't really do anything for the Tummy Tuck results as far as for better appearance or comfort?
Im 5 months post-op from a tummy tuck and lipo 360. In the past few weeks, Ive noticed my lower belly protuding out and not completely flat. Even in the morning before I eat anything, it is not completely flat. Ive maintained my weight since surgery, wear my compression garment and still get lymphatic massages once a week. Is this still inflammation lingering around or my final result??
Im about 4 months post-op from my extensive tummy tuck. Ive been wearing a medical grade bodysuit as compression since about 5 weeks post-op. I have been trying to transition out of wearing it but when I dont wear it, I feel uncomfortable. My muscles feel like theyre working overtime to stay put without the compression. I move slower and its a bit more painful without it. Is this concerning? Ive been doing ab workouts to gain strength and build muscle for a couple months too.
I had a lipoadminoplasty done with diastasis recti repair. Unfortunately I had a large area of fat necrosis and couldnt wear compression garments. 6 months later my stomach has lost all shape and the dr said it's because my fascia stretched out. Is there anything that can be done about it now? If i had worn the compression would that have helped? It's very disappointing esp considering the agony of the necrosis. I am 165 cm and weigh about 68 kg. Thank you.
25 days p/o of TT. Drain removed 3 days ago and now developing fluid buildup. Aspiration done today and only 10cc's were removed surgeon could feel/see liquid but nothing was coming out after several attempts. I still see a wave in my tummy. Surgeon gave green light to wear compression garment after suffering from necrosis.. since I have fluid build up will wearing the garment affect healing process of the necrosis?
