How bad is this scarring (nearly 6 months post op)? I had a bad recovery due to getting a pulmonary embolism 1 week after tummy tuck, in hospital for 3 weeks and now on blood thinners for the next few months. Im using E45 cream and silicone sheets but the scar is so ugly and Im just praying it smoothes out and gets lighter. Scar revision not an option as I am petrified of surgery after what happened to me. Any suggestions to help this scar would be greatly appreciated
I had a blood clot roughly 7 years ago after having a D&C. After blood work was performed it was ruled that it occurred from not taking the necessary precautions (getting on a 6 hour car ride immediately after that I slept through). I was placed on blood thinners for about a year. Moving forward I would really like a tummy tuck with lipo. Is this possible and safe? Ive been having a problem finding drs .
I am 46 yo. I am 5'6. 148lb and run 3 miles several days a week. I am concerned..my surgeon doesn't feel it is a benefit to use exparel, and doesn't feel I need to have lovenox or a blood thinner post surg to prevent DVT/PE. I love the surgeon I picked but am disappointed that these are not what I was expecting for my tummy tuck, smart lipo of abdomen and flanks, and removal of saline breast implants under the muscle. I had 2 kids by c section no pain meds, but not sure if tummy tuck compares?
Im 25 years old with 3 children. I had a small pulmonary embolism back in October of 2015 due to birth control. I was put on blood thinners (xeralto) up until 6 months after as well as seeing a hematologist regularly. I have never had any complications since then and I dont have any underlying blood clotting disorder. Ive also had a breast augmentation last year with no complications. Would I still be considered a candidate for a tummy tuck? Please let me know. Thank you!
I had scheduled an appointment for a TT w/lipo of the flanks & muscle tightening, my surgeon said to stop taking blood thinners 4 weeks before surgery. Next day I found out I have vertebral artery dissection-Moderate. I was put on plavix & Aspirin. The ER Dr said I can stop taking them 5-6 before the TT. So, is 6 days safe enough? & how about postsurgery- When can I resume my plavix and aspirin? I'm going to ask my TT Dr. But I want other opinions too please and thanks! What would you do?
I am planning on having a tummy tuck procedure done before the end of October by a board certified plastic surgeon. I have always taken vitamins and minerals to keep my skin looking radiant. List of vitamins/minerals Vitamin A, C, E, Zinc, Rutin,Bromelaine, Arnica Iron Supplement- for my mild anemia I read that vitamin e serves as a blood thinner, so I would like to know how soon before surgery should I stop taking vitamin e and any other vitamin/mineral I mentioned in my list.
I just recently had a tummy tuck, one that I have waited years for. However, after surgery things began going wrong very quickly. After my surgery (4 days) I was admitted to the hospital for internal bleeding, required three units of blood and put on a machine that did my breathing for me, as my body could not do it for itself. Now I am stuck with another surgery to remove the giant blood clot. What went wrong? Did I need blood thinners? Thank you.
I have been told that i have to be off my blood thinners for 10 days, If I have to be off I my blood thinner for the procedure, can it be for 2 days prior and after the procedure start with lonvex injection to prevent clotting. If not what are some options for me.
