A few years ago, i noticed that my right nostril seems to be harder to breathe out of than my left. Nothing that affects my daily life but enough for me to notice after work outs at times or certain sleeping ways. I also noticed around this time that my nose now slants to the right. It didnt do that growing up and i dont recall ever having an injury. I know rhinoplasty is usually recommended to straighten nose, but if mine is the result of deviation could septoplasty only fix it?
I got slaped directly in the nose about three months ago. My nose was hit from the right side and it was pushed more than 90 degrees in the other direction. since the injury the tip of my nose always seems to be pointing left even when i change direction from which the lighting is coming from and the dorsal appears bony from the front. Will my nose eventually return to its normal shape since it is made of cartilage or is this a permanent addition to the shape of my nose
Hello, 23 year old female I have had a few injuries to my nose starting at age 8 which was the worst damage wise (motorbike straight to the face/nose head on) A few yeas ago i had a minor incident with impact to the nose and since then ive had worst problems breathing and pain. One dr told me it is allergies and the other nasal valve collapse as a result of trauma 3rd pic is me inhaling
Many years ago I had an accident that injured my nose. After this it my nose as never aesthetically correct. This does not bother me, but as I get older I realize I have troubling breathing out of my nose especially the left nostril, to the point my dentist recently asked if I can even breath out of my nose. I am curious if a septoplasty would fix this or if I would need a more in depth procedure.
My 16 month old headbutted me last week. I just had a septoplasty in July of this year because my 2 year old headbutted me and I couldn't breathe well on the right side. Now I cannot breathe well on the right side again. Can you tell if this is a deviated septum. There is a reddish pink area that I think I see blocking the opening.
Had septoplasty 5 days ago. Got hit in the nose yesterday by my daughters head. One side was bleeding for about 30 minutes. What are the possible causes for bleeding, beside the obvious possibility of a new fracture? Have visited my surgeon, he told me that he can't know or do much as long as the swelling goes down.
After getting elbowed in the nose playing basketball a few years ago, I noticed in pictures that my nose appears to be pushed off to one side among some breathing problems I've had on that side too. I saw an ENT doctor a few months ago who confirmed I had a deviated septum. However, I only want to get surgery if it will straighten the outside appearance of my nose back to the way it was before. Would septoplasty be the best option here?
I sustained an injury to my nose and thought it would be fine because there was no bleeding only swelling and tenderness but now after two months I feel a pressure on the bridge of my nose and can't breathe through my right nostril when I lay down on my side and also experience headaches if I don't elevate my head. What could this be?
I had a septoplasty 6 months ago after an injury (closed septoplasty, no rhinoplasty). In the past week I found what I thought was a pimple or abscess in the most forward part of my nose. I began picking at it trying to pop it and am afraid it was a piece of a suture (I think they call it tip-defining suture). I cannot say if my nose has changed shape. Are permanent sutures used in septoplasty and if so, has enough time elapsed that scar tissue will support the structure of my nose?
