Hello there! I have had a deviated septum for as long as I can remember. Now, at 25, it's became a big issue. My nose feels like it is literally clogged up everyday unless I use a nasal spray. I am wondering if plastic surgeons perform this surgery? Also, how could I remove the bump on the front of my nose? It's like extra cartilage on ONE side. I don't want to change the entire nose shape (even tho I don't really love it) but mostly that bump which makes it look crooked & maybe sides. Thanks!
Hello! I am a white 45 year old woman and have had a crooked nose with an asymmetrical bifid tip. Lately I am having more trouble breathing out of one nostril and Ive noticed that the septum looks more S-shaped and that the very tip seems twisted as much as 30 degrees. What procedure should I be looking into to fix this? Thanks very much for your advice.
I have noticed since adolescence that my nose has been crooked. I have debated having a rhinoplasty to straighten my nose but am curious if a septoplasty, possibly covered my insurance, would fix my nose. I do not really experience problems associated with a deviated septum, the appearance is the most unpleasing part.
Just want to preface that I know my nose could be worse and there are things that I like about my nose (my side profile being one). But I have a pretty deviated septum and crooked columella which looks horrible on camera. Despite getting compliments on it irl and in photos from my good side I really want to add more harmony to my pretty asymmetrical face. Could a septoplasty address my concerns or would I need a rhinoseptoplasy? I dont want to change anything except the crookedness of my nose
I had a septoplasty. The surgeon tried to tell me my nose was crooked after surgery because he needed to make it align to my crooked upper lip (both deviated to my left). Is it true that Ill have a crooked nose forever and a second surgery wont fix this? No ones face is symmetrical so why cant I have a straight nose when other ppl out there have asymmetries and their nose is straight (regardless of position of their upper lip). Id like to know if I can have a straight nose despite my lip
Ive read online that a rhinoplasty in combination with a septoplasty would need to be done in order to achieve a straight nose and if you do a septoplasty a lone it would only correct your breathing. How can a septoplasty be done properly without the need for a rhinoplasty when the the nose is visually crooked? If the septum needs to be centered but everything else is crooked how can there be good airflow ?
I have had two septoplastys. same surgeon. Both times, they have left my nose looking crooked and its hard to breathe. the nostril is colapsed on the right side. The first month I can breathe normal and it looks straight But then it colapses.. Possibly getting a third in Korea but I am wondering how successful It will be, and if they could revise my dorsal hump as well.. I am unsure if I have enough septal cartilage left, are there any procedures that can fix this problem?
