Okay to kiss/make out after septoplasty? Has been 8 to 10 days, during kissing a nose to nose tap does elicit a dull pain. Will these slight bumps ruin the work done internally, or these light taps are not detrimental? No redness or swelling occurred.
It's been 7 days since I had my septoplasty surgery done. I went in today for my follow up appointment to get packing removed. My nose bled uncontrollably after packing was removed. I sat at the doctors office bleeding for about 40 minutes. The nurse that removed packing said in order to stop bleeding ahead needed to burn the blood vessel. What she did worked! I'm a little concerned because the pain I'm feeling now is worse than when I walked in. Is it normal to bleed a lot after packing is removed?
I had a septoplasty done 6 days ago and got the stitches out today. Ive had a horrible odor in my nose for the past 3 days and it seems to be getting worse. I thought when he took the stitches and packers out it would smell better but its way worse now. Is this bad? When will the smell go away?
I am on day 6 and just went to get the splints out of my nose today. Now my nose feels so crusty inside. I can't stand it, so I have been picking the dried blood and crusts out of my nose (often attached to nasal hair - so it hurts). Is this bad to do? If so, why? What can I do instead? My doctor did not give me instructions in regards to touching my nose.
Got a septoplasty/turbinate reduction and now I have a 0.5 inch hole in my septum (septal perforation). What should I do? I am certain there was not a gaping hole in my septum before surgery. When I got my stints out after 2 weeks, I went to rinse and immediately realized saline was flowing right out the other nostril. I asked my wife to look and she literally gasped and said I have a huge hole. It measures about 1/2 by up to 3/4 the other direction. My surgeon was well reviewed but I can't believe he didn't mention this. It's only been 5 days now and so far I have not had any adverse effects.
Had a septoplasy and turbinate reduction 6 days ago. Visit my ENT 2 days ago to have the splints removed and said everything looked good for 4 days. I am now have bad headaches that go from my temple to the middle of my forehead and random throbbing under my eye. Is this normal or should I contact the ENT again tomorrow?
An ENT performed a Septoplasty and Inferior Turbinate Reducation on me 6 days ago. My nostrils were asymmetrical pre-surgery due to a deviated septum. Now after the procedure, they are even more asymmetrical. One of the nurses called to check on me the next day and told me it was because there was more work done to one side than the other, so there is just more swelling. However, now most of my swelling has gone down and I just dont see how the nostril will just change shape.
I had a rhinoseptoplasty and endoscopic sinus surgery 1 week ago. Today I had my cast removed on the outside of my nose and removal of the packing inside of my nose. The packing on my left was not found. The left side was much more swollen and the surgeon made 3 attempts to try and find the packing. The left side was extremely painful and we stopped after the 3 attempts. He thinks I may have swallowed the packing on the left or that it is further up. It was so painful, I'm afraid to go back.
I know it's only been a week, but I took a peak and there's a small hole. I'm seeing my ENT/surgeon this Monday, but I'm terrified is a perforation. In reading up, you need an extremely qualified doctor to do this repair surgery and I'm not finding any local. I don't want a button, I want it fixed. How do I ensure I find someone very good, when I can't find anybody at all!? Maybe I'm jumping the gun, but I am very freaked. Plus, my insurance doesn't appear to cover any plastic surgeons. Help!!
