Traumatic scar leads to following due to the misalignment of the wound edges 1. Right philtral column is disrupted 2. Left philtral column is distorted (shifted to right) 3. Philtral depth is lost 4. Vermilion border is disrupted What I expect from the revision IN ORDER OF PRIORITY 1. Restoration of ANATOMICAL LANDMARKS 2. Decreased scar width without tissue distortion 3. Minimal excision of healthy tissue (minimal volume loss) to prevent distortion Is it attainable and how?
Hi. Im devastated. Im 2,5 weeks post op. A plastic surgeon surgically removed a cyst on my philtrum, located on the right column. I knew it would be a scar but not that the symmetry of the columns would look so destroyed. Since the scar is in the middle of the right column dragging the skin inwards its like that column almost disappeares, loosing all the volume there. And just above the scar where the column is still intact its swollen, so it looks like a half column. Can laser help? Filler?
Met with an accident 1-1/2 yrs back, the helmet visor cracked and stuck my philtrum at two points almost splitting them. Applied contractubex, but the scar is still visible and while suturing the two parts of lips were misaligned forming a somewhat distorted shape and as there are no moustache hairs growing at that scar point, it looks ugly. Want to remove the scar, grow the moustache hair and align the lips correctly. Wondering what my options are. Thanks
Hi, I was one of the victims of 14 October 2017, a massive blast caused by a truck bombing in Mogadishu, So. my injury was upper lib traumatic cleft. After sugical repairing, unfortunately, it healed with scar and huge distruption of vermillion border and philtrum, my plastic surgeon prescribed to me Dermatix silicon gel, an anti-scar gel and he saidwe have to wait untill the granulation tissue become mature. So, dear drs do you have any recommendation about my case?
When I was in the third grade I was running during recess; I fell and did a perfect faceplant and slid. This resulted in a scar on my Cupids bow and my philtrum so my lip looks smaller and my Cupid's bow looks like somebody got their finger and whiped it off. I have really thin lips so they're chapped year round so I can't wear lipsticks or anything. I would just prefer to get them fixed so I dont look like a drawing somebody smudged.
Well it has always bothered me that, there is a very seen in person WHite line going down my philtrum and it looks rather bad and I want it gone as if it was never there Is there any way to permanently rid of it? I really don't like it and I really want it gone. (Note my camera is very bad and the line can be seen so much more in person)
