Had surgery in December to remove a spot (melanoma in-situ) in center of cheek. Ever since the stitches were removed around the 21st of December there has been the bumps which haven't resolved. I have tried massaging and have been using kelocote for 9 weeks. I saw the doctor at the end of January and he said don't worry we will fix it even if we have to make a small incision at both ends. I'm very self conscious about this because it sticks out really bad. Is a small incision an easy fix?
I am 10 days post scar revision for a mole removal two years ago that left me with dog ears and depressed scar on my cheek. It is 10 days post scar revision and the scar line, where the two sides meet and were stitched together seem like a tiny indented line where they were sewn together. Will this go away with time? PS did not place steri strips this time after scar revision when stitches were removed like the previous PS did in original mole removal. Could that play a part?
Hello. I am hoping that someone can please help alleviate my concerns. I had scar revision performed on my cheek two weeks ago (from a previous motor vehicle accident) and there is a large lump at the top of the scar. It is my understanding that this is a dog-ear/standing cone deformity. What can be done to remove this? How long do I have to wait before any medical intervention? I am hoping that this can be resolved or removed as soon as possible. Please advise. Thank you for your help.
Hello doctors, I am interested in lowering my tummy tuck scar. I'm aware that I may not be able to have it lowered much, but I would at least like for the scar to be straight. The original surgeon extended the scar too much and I ended up with 'dog ears'. The scar is not straight and it bothers me. Do you think the markings for my desired scar are realistic? Any information helps.
I had a cyst in my left cheek after getting my wisdom teeth removed. The cyst was removed 9 months ago, but I still have these dog ears at both ends of the scar (which have slightly improved with time but not much). I massage it everyday. My surgeon warns that if I want to fix it, the scar will become much longer. I am not sure what to do at this point because the 2 bumps bother me very much but I do not want a huge scar on my face and possibly risk having the dog ears again.
I had a scar revision done from a botched mole removal, to remove dog ear and depressed scar. I had stitches removed day 6 and there are railroad track marks. Do these go away? Is it from the thread pushing down on the skin for a week and now that stitches are out it will go back to normal or could this lead to a scar?
