I have a rhinoplasty scheduled in 6 months and I would like to take a nasal spray with Fluticasone Propionate to relieve suspected allergies. The medication indicates you can use it longer than a month, and I'm curious if it is okay to take this for as long as needed prior to rhinoplasty? Thank you
I have two small septal perforations in the back of my nose due to a septorhinoplasty 7 months ago. I still have internal swelling of the turbinates and have been instructed to use a fluticasone furoate spray to reduce this swelling twice a day. Just looking for some opinions if it is safe to do so? Thanks.
I have a nose full of hard dried blood clots. I cleaned the front of my nostrils, and looking at me directly you wouldn't be able to see any blood clots within my nose. But I feel them all in there! I use saline spray a few x/day, and i do use the ointment but I hate using it bc it's hard to breathe with it in your nose. I occasionally pick at some of the dried blood with a tweezer (*very gently though. It's like playing Operation! I try not to touch the sides or move my nose). that is okay?
I am 5 days post op after having Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty/turbinate reduction surgery. It is still very hard to breathe thru the nose. I use saline spray frequently. But my question is, is it okay to use Afrin a few days post op? I began using it 2X a day on day 2 after surgery and it does bring me great relief but I have a gut feeling it is counter productive to my healing process. Can anyone shed some light? Thank You so much
Over the course of the past six months my nose has changed shape on its own. My right nostil is now bulged out and becoming more defined whereas my left nostil has remained unchanged. I'm only 21 years old and haven't had any recent facial truama. I do have sinus inflamation problems and recently started using a nasal spray to open my airways. But how is it possible and why did my nose change so dramatically in appearance the past few months? It's not symetrical anymore and starting to worry me.
I haven't used any decongestant nasal spray (except for 1 time a few weeks ago with bad spring allergies) for over 6 months now, but before I quit I was using them every night for a few months to help with congestion. I quit when I realized how bad it was to use for such long periods of time. I don't think it caused any lasting damage from what I can tell, but can it effect future rhinoplasty results? I am wanting the surgery three months from now.
Hello doctors, I am 6 months post op rhinoplasty. I have a few questions on things Im noticing in my recovery. I have noticed my nose is extremely dry. It is very uncomfortable. Is this normal 6 months after? Will this resolve? What can I do to help? I am using AYR saline spray. Also I also do not feel air coming in and out of my nose. My turbinates were not touched during surgery. Is this normal? Not sure if it has anything to do with ho dry my nose is. I appreciate your time. Thank you!
5weeks post op from a rhinoplasty. Everyday since my surgery I have been using Q tips to gently clean the inside of my nose such as mucus but I don't really go deep in there. i don't know any other way to clear the mucus. my doctor said it was okay for me to use Qtips to remove the mucus. I use Saline nasal spray before inserting the Qtips. With my Q tips, I use water & an ointment, not hydrogen peroxide because it burns. I just want to know do Q tips ruin the results of my nose? I'm worried
12 days after I had to move so I have been exposed to a lot of dust and physical work. I feel fine except that my breathing is still very hard, I have dry mucus inside the nostrils and I don't know how to clean it. I am using nasal spray but not helping much. Question is is it dangerous being in a lot of dust and attic after 3 weeks?
