Hi! Im a week and half away from being 5 months op and it seems to be the cause of my swelling is mostly the heat. My nose swelling was more down the first few months because it was still cold where im from now that its hot the swelling came back big time! Can I use cold compresses on my nose regularely without causing any damage or is it risky?
I know it is a common recommendation to use icing for the first few days to help with facial swelling after rhinoplasty. However I was wondering if after a few days when you have stopped using ice, if warm compresses would be helpful? Or would they have no effect, or a negative effect?
I had a rhinoplasty 2 years ago. A few days ago I was hit on the nose HARD with a basketball. My nose did not bleed, but it did hurt alot and swelled up. it hurt for a couple hours after that and it is still swollen days after. I am extremely worried because where the columella meeta my septum, there is a piece of cartilage poking out. it was not there before. I am wondering if its possible that I broke my carilage? I have been icing my nose and it is still there.
I had my nose surgery today. The nose wasn't broken and only a slight amount was taken off the hump. I wanted to know how to ice my nose without getting the cast wet. I've been using peas and carrots and it has some condensation. Is it bad to rest on the cast? I would like to ice it as much as possible in the next couple days. Also, why can't the cast get wet?
Tomorrow is my tonsillectomy, rhinoplasty, deviated septum correction surgery. I'm going to spend the bulk of today running errands to prepare but I'm wondering if anyone here has any suggestions for things for post op care? Anything from certain pillows to ice packs to vitamins would be great. Thank you so much!
It is now 15 days past the initial surgery. I used the ice pack for the bruising on the nose and around the eyes but I haven't used the ice pack in a few days. Is it going to cause long-term damage to the intended result if I don't use the ice pack? It is now just puffy in the post-splint stage. Is it ok to just let the nose work itself out at this point?
