During each say I notice my nostrils can look wide and flat or taller and oval shaped throughout the day. I haven't had surgery (yet) but I do have a deviated septum that affects breathing. Would a septoplasty fix the fluctuating look of my nostrils or should I consider a rhinoplasty as well? I'm currently using a nasal spray and have noticed my nostrils look taller after I take it
I had a lot of swelling and a bulbous tip after surgery (approx. 5 months after) and my surgeon injected a steroid shot to reduce inflammation in the tip. After 48 hours I saw a huge difference, but I have become hyper focused on it to make sure it doesnt swell up like before. I feel that I notice the amount of swelling is different each day. Is that normal? Are the fluctuations going to decrease over time? I have thick skin so I know it takes 9-12 months to see final results
It's been 2 years since I had a rhinoplasty done where they reshaped the tip, the nostrils and the bridge. I'm very satisfied with the results but there's one issue, the left side of the tip of my nose continues to feel weird and change size. For example when I workout or when It's hot I see a bump but at times, especially after a cold shower it's flat. Do I have to continue to wait and will it someday just stop fluctuating and be flat ? Thank you if you can answer it
I had a septorhinoplasty about 6 months ago. I overall wanted a conservative result to straighten a crooked nose and fix my septum. Over the last month, have started to see more of a dent on the bridge. Asked my surgeon if this could be an open roof, which he quickly said no. There is a prominent bony raised area that can be palpated on my right side of nose. There was a speader graft placed on that side as well. Swelling still fluctuates a lot and this is more prominent at end of day.
I am not over 6 years post-op and to this day I get fluctuating swelling from day to day, sometimes hour to hour. When it flares up I get a throbbing sensation in my nose and my nasal passage swells, sometimes impeding my breathing. Throughout the days my nose feels weird with persistent swelling fluctuations that get better when I am in a very cold room...any heat or spicy foods makes my nose swell. The two photos I attached are taken 1 day apart.
My nose still fluctuates at 5 months after closed rhinoplasty .. i have days were my nose looks great and days were my nose is very swollen and swelling is worse on weekdays when i go to school and when i wake up from sleeping than in weekends. My nose tip and the middle third of the nose are still stiff and hard is this normal ?
I'm 5 weeks post op I have so much fluctuate swelling through out day and so much in the mornings...when does fluctuate swelling settle so I can start seeing improvements daily...is this normal or could it be a infection
I'm 4wks post-op for extensive rhinoplasty. Is it common for swelling to go up and down 'randomly'? A week ago I began really appreciating my nose, it looked slender and noticed some definition. I was still sleeping elevated at 3 weeks, a few nights ago I decided to start sleeping flat and it has caused my nose to be more swollen in the morning. It makes me antsy that recovery isnt exactly a linear decrease; swelling started to get much better, now it is worse. There's no pain though. Thank you!
I had a revision rhino approx. 1 mon. ago. When the cast came off from the revision, my nose looked amazing, very happy with the results. My nose now fluctuates in swelling it seems like by the hour! Sometimes it looks wonderful (especially after I tape) and then other times, large and bulbous. I know that swelling can persist for a year or more, but why so much fluctuation? Should I expect the final result to be the bulbous shape I see some hours or the small defined shape I see other times?
