How long should there be a scab on the internal incision after a closed rhinoplasty? I cant get it on the picture but when I put my finger an bit inside it is right after that bulge, where I drew the blue line. Horizontal and against my septum. I also noticed these yellow spotty crusts on the side of my columella, pretty obvious in the picture. Is that normal? My surgeon never once looked inside my nostrils to see if everything had healed right :(
Im 5 weeks post rhinoplasty. I saw a crust booger (gross, I know) stick out of any nose and I carefully began to pull it out w tweezers. I barley tugged at it before deciding to leave it alone and not take it out because I realized it was pretty stuck. However, since last night my nose has been on fire on that side. No bleeding, no swelling, but stinging pain. Did I pull on a stitch or skin an ruin my nose? Will the pain go away? Please help :(
Due to travel reasons, I had to remove the stitches after my open rhinoplasty earlier than it should have been removed. The doctor said it would be okay but now (over a month after my rhinoplasty) I have yellow CRUSTY scab over the wound inside my nose everyday. I remove it with cotton bud/cotton pad but it keeps coming back. How worried should I be?
I woke up this morning with a dry and congested feeling in my nose, I figured I'd gently try to remove the mucus when it is hard as I use certain products my doctor recommended to keep it moist inside my nose and it is impossible to get rid of them using irrigation; they just won't come out that way. I got out a few pieces without any pain or discomfort along with some hair. I do have dissolvable stitches from what doctor told me and I don't think I got anything out that looked like one.
Its been a week now that i had my closed rhinoplasty, i have a huge ball of dried mucus attached to blood crust in both of nostril i presume that its where the incisions are so im scared that by pulling them out my incision will re-open but i cant breath by my nostril and its really uncomfortable. Its so far in the nostril that im not able to properly put onguents with a q-tip to soften up.. what should i do ?
I got my septum pierced (not through the cartilage) about 6 months ago. For the past 4 months there was a bump on the piercing with dark yellow crusts forming (I never had a serious infection). 3 piercers told me this was just from moving the jewelry around. But is it possible that this bump was a sign that either my septum cartilage or the cartilage at the tip of my nose was damaged/melting away? (I'm not sure if the tip of my nose actually feels squishier of if I'm just paranoid.) Thanks
I had perforated septum repair using cartilage from my ear about 24 days ago. I'm still stuffed up and have problem with a dry crust buildup on my septum. I use saline spray and a humidifier to no avail. I've carefully removed a small amount with my finger, but need something to make them softer. Would coconut oil help?
2 days ago i had my sutures removed from open rhinoplasty. Today the crusts came off and i seem to have a little bump were the stitches used to be (see photo) Can i do something about it? It looks weird!
Trying to clean my nose 6 weeks after surgery and seems like some spots are sensitive. I really do think it could be the crust and blood has dried up along the septum and towards nostril. When trying to break at the crusts gently with a qtip I experience a small sharp pain. Is it possible that these crusts and scabs can cause a slight pain when trying to move/ break them? Thanks for your honesty I really would just like to reassure my self even though this may not be a serious question to some.
