I had Rhinoplasty only 2 months ago, i had it done because my nose had been smashed not broken for about 8 years, the doctors said i had to wait til i was a certain age for my nose to stop growing. I was wondering why the tip of my nose is a little hard? and will i ever be able to move it again?
So I had a Septo/rhinoplasty on Saturday night (48 hours ago). Recovery is going well. The issue is the packing. Silicone Tampons were used and the plastic is really starting to cut into my nostrils. My doctor says he will take them out alongside the cast at 7 days but i am also conscious that the medical practice is short staffed so am wondering if that is their motivation. Does it sound right to have packing kept in the nose for 7 days?
I recently had a rhinoplasty procedure and 2 days post op I noticed my eyes were purple and swollen to the point where opening them was painful. Ofter the past few days I have noticed the swelling on my has lessened slightly and the bruises have turned yellow, however, now my cheeks and lower face is totally swollen. My cheeks still haven't budged, I understand that swelling on the actual nose takes about 1 year to subside completely, but what about facial swelling?
I had my procedure 2 days ago. I feel pretty well considering I just had surgery. However, the excessive mucus/phlegm in my throat is becoming unbearable. I cant swallow without dry heaving or almost choking on it. Ive been rinsing my mouth almost every minute, is there anything I can do/take to help alleviate this? Would mucinex help dry it up?
Got my cast off two days ago and I look like an avatar. My nose is so wide and just looks like a huge blob of fat. I'm freaking out. Is it going to eventually get thinner I'm hoping? The bruises under my eyes are also still there, I've tried everything from arnica to pinnaple you name it. I guess I went into this so excited but now I'm so embarrassed I don't want to leave my house.
My packaging was removed this morning. They applied polysporin inside the nostrils with a q-tip. I put some in this afternoon and then tonight again.I realized that after application (a lot of gel) my inner nose burns slightly and then it starts to eventually drip. I put on the gauge strip afterward to catch it. However Ill be more stuffy for a while after, and it feels like there is mucus at the back of my throat (wanting to swallow type feeling). Is this normal?Before getting better?
I had my rhinoplasty on Tuesday the 26th. I've been brushing my teeth with my sonicare toothbrush. I also have been flossing. My concern is that either the vibrations from the electric toothbrush or the movements that occur in and around the mouth with flossing will in some disrupt my healing. I had an open rhinoplasty with osteotomies and cartilage grafts near my tip. Can flossing and brushing my teeth in any way impact my results and/or dislodge my cartilage grafts?
When using a saline nasal spray do you breathe it in or do you squirt in a few drops after a nose job ? I am not clear on how to use the spray knowing you shouldnt be blowing your nose or doing heavy sniffling. I am on day 2 post op.
