I am 1.5 years post op with super thin skin after a closed rhinoplasty and when its a tad colder inside or when im outside the tip of nose gets so cold and red and purple. The quality of the skin seems to be so bad, my skin also blanches where cartilage bumps are and sometimes i get a small scab in the middle. Is this something to be worried about? Thanls in advance
I had rhinoplasty 18 months ago. I started noticing diagonal lines on my nose. I sent pics to my surgeon, and they said despite using spreader grafts, it looks like the middle portion thinned out/contracted more than expected, or the bones thickened slightly or didn't move inward as much as expected. I was offered filler. Is it likely to worsen over time, and is filler the best option for my situation?
Hi there, I am a 22 year old female. I had my rhinoplasty august of 2022. My process for rhinoplasty was good at the start, 6 months after my rhinoplasty I had little to no swelling and my nose looked amazing. I have fairly thick skin prior to my rhinoplasty. at 14 months post op i got hit in the face with a soccer ball. my nose has been swelling since then some days more than others. Will Kenalog injections help? I am so sad there was no swelling before, i loved my nose.
Hello. I had surgery to fix a broken nose that happened years ago. I am still experiencing some fluctuating swelling especially in the tip and its more noticeable first thing in the morning, and when I exercise. It even feels weird sometimes in morning and while working out. There are points when I like the way it looks, but like I mentioned it fluctuated. I am coming up on 2 years post op this august and am wondering if this is normal and if the swelling and weird feelings will go away. Thx!
I am 1.5 year out of male rhinoplasty and still have significant tip swelling. My doctor assures me that this sometimes occurs, and is offering steroid injections every 2 months of which I have already had 7. I am recommended for more. Are there any adverse effects to consider given the amount of steroid injections I require...and is there a maximum number that can be given or a time frame after which none would be recommended?
I had a rhinoplasty almost a 1.5 years ago now. after I got my cast off I noticed indents on either side of my nose and a ridge under the tip of my nose. My doctor said it was just swelling and it should go away. only one of the indents improved. I asked my doctor at my 1 year mostly out of structural concerns and he told me not to worry. Aesthetically they bother me sometimes as well. I'm 5'9 120 lbs 25 y/o. I just at to get another opinion if I should worry/ if there's anything to improve them
I had my first rhinoplasty in feb 2022 & Im not 100% happy. I like the side profile, but from the front, my tip doesnt have that definition I hoped for. It looks very swollen still after 1.5 years after and has a sausage shape from the front. Im considering revision but doctors have told me that my skin is thick and either cant be made any smaller or still needs more time for swelling to go down. Is it possible I have scar tissue, would steroid injection help or just more time?
I had a rhinoplasty 18 months ago. The nose looked perfect five months ago, but I noticed some reoccurring swelling recently at the tip. I reached out to my original surgeon and he wants to charge me a lot for the appointment and shots. I found another surgeon who's also very qualified willing to charge me a more reasonable amount. I know primary surgeon is best, but I was wondering if it's still a good idea to see the other qualified surgeon for evaluation and/or kenalog?
Had a septorhinoplasty a year and a half ago. It appears that ever since my surgery, there seems to be discoloration or bruising on either side of my nose tip. I thought they were shadows for a long time. But after a high intensity workout at the gym yesterday, these spots actually turned darker/blue as my face flushed. What could this be? I was unable to get a clear photo, as they are very light and just look like shadows where the skin curves around the tip. Help!
Im 18 months post op after an open rhinoplasty and alar base reduction. I did not have any grafts. I have a hard notch above my right nostril. There is a mild notch above my left nostril too, but it is not as hard or pronounced. My surgeon saw me in person today, and also at 16 months post op. I raised this on both opportunities and he said I have a soft V. He said it was a good thing, and not a deformity or anything, but I am confused as its very solid and bony feeling.
