Dear doctors, after revision rhinoplasty where a small callus was grasped in a closed procedure with no osteotomies, how long afterwards should you not wear glasses? As a regular wearer of glasses I was wondering whether it was weeks or months.
I have had a revision rhinoplasty done. I am worried what is going on with my nose. My nose looks quite different to my table photos and video I seen post surgery. This is 2nd time I've had surgery now. The surgery itself and surgeon seemed great. I'm beginning to think it's my nose and it won't reduce hump now and I am not able to have a smoother nose. I understand callous can appear. But can they be that big? What is your thoughts on what is going on?
It has been 2 years since my first rhinoplasty, all was well except from my bridge bone/dorsal hump is bigger then before. Its rock hard bumpy and boney. My surgeon said its callus and can be filled down in revision. My question, if I get this revision will the same callus problem return? My surgeon said he can not say for sure if it will or not. Anyway can be prevented or why this happened?
Since revision rhinoplasty 4 years ago my radix is much higher and narrower with a visible deviated lump (hard like bone). I want it straighter and lower. My surgeon says lump is callus. Consulted with 3 other surgeons who thought it was a radix graft. No mention of osteotomies in operation report. Surgeon says he didn't do them. Can you please provide opinions on what is going on with my radix and if rasping is the best solution? If its a calcified graft, does it need removing or just rasping?
I had a septorhinoplasty in 2015. The rhinoplasty was for the dorsal hump and tip refinement. Then had rasping done fall 2016 to smooth out calluses. I was still unhappy with the side views and at a recent consultation was told my nasal bones had healed apart and there was a dent towards the tip. This September I had a revision rhinoplasty under general anesthesia to correct the bones and smooth down the slope of my nose. Now it looks like new calluses have formed and I was told to massage.
I had a full septo rhinoplasty on march 2015...i then had calluses rasped down on feb 2016. But the bump has reappeared. My surgeon seems to think its still calluses. If this was to be readdressed what could a surgeon do to ensure calluses doesnt form again.
I had revision rhinoplasty for a bump that was left over on my nose from a previous surgery that I had 5 years ago. Im now 4 weeks post-op and a slight hump appears in the same area that the previous bump was in. Is it possible that the bump will grow back again or most likely just inflammation? Does rubbing that area make the bump grow back?
I had a first op in 2008, but was left with a very asymmetric tip and prominent columellar show. I decided to have a small revision in Dec. 2014, under local anesthesia. The dr used cartilage from the tip to correct my V deformity and also rasped the bridge, but now I have a callus formation which still shows after 11 months, a columella that's still too big and the tip seems to have sunk. How risky would be to undergo a new surgery for rasping the callus and lifting the columella a bit more?
Hi, I am 6 weeks post revision rhinoplasty and I seem to have developed a round hard lump on the side of the bridge of my nose? Please could you let me know what this is. I have been in touch with my surgeon and he has said to massage my nose firmly from the top of the bridge down to the tip of my nose. I have been doing this for the past week or so and it seems to have made the lump grow. Please could you let me know if these bumps go over time?
