I underwent septorhinoplasty surgery in 2019 and although my breathing improved, my tip was left with a dent in it and was very uneven. I had a tip revision last year with a different surgeon to try to correct this, but since then my nose has started to project downward on my face and feels very heavy/bulbous. The first three pictures are from before any nose surgeries and the last three were taken today. I'm not sure what to do, but any advice/help would be so appreciated! Thank you!
I'm am approx 2 years post septorhinoplasty, and the middle region of my nose seems to collapse inward, making it difficult to breathe. If I push these areas out and hold them there, I can breathe a lot better. My surgeon has stated that my septum has redeviated to my left and that he can straighten it, but he does not believe that I have breathing issues on both sides. To me, it feels like there is insufficient side support. Does this look like valve collapse (both sides) or other?
I got a rhinoplasty 7 months ago and I believe I may have an internal valve collapse or mid valve collapse. When I lie down on my side with the collapsed side towards the ceiling, it is harder to breathe through the collapsed nostril. Like the weight of the skin collapses even more. My doctor said its not functional, and he plans to put filler in this week. Is this correct? My breathing isnt the best but its not the worst. Just a little bothersome. Not sure if that is swelling or collapse.
I have had a septorhinoplasty to correct a deviated septum. But came out of surgery with still a deviated septum, breathing issues on one side, and what feels a dent/hole on the side of my nose- feels like cartilage was missing. What could this dent be and is it true that when cartilage is broken, it refills with fibres when it heals (meaning the dented area would fill up with time and wont look or feel hollow anymore)? I believe the dent could be internal nasal collapse.
Hi. I had a rhinoplasty done in may 2022. 4 months after I noticed a flute sound coming from on side of my nose. I got a correction surgery October 2023. After that it became worse, and I also experience loud sound when I breath in. What can be the reason for this, and is there anything I can get done to get rid of this. I cant concentrate and sleep, and I am exhausted and mentally drained. The surgeon also does not take this seriously. What can I do?
I had a rhinoplasty that left me with a large septal perforation and a crooked nose. I had a revision, and my nose is somewhat straighter, but still leans to the left, has an uneven tip, and a collapsed valve, making it difficult to breathe. I have consulted with several surgeons, and all of them say it is too risky to perform another surgery. Will electromechanical reshaping of cartilage (or anything similar) ever be available for cases like me where surgery isn't an option?
I had a septorhinoplasty and I am not happy with the results. The goal was to make my nose more harmonious with my face while reducing the size some and correcting a deviated septum. Breathing has not improved but ontop of that, my bridge is uneven. I am 7 months post op at this point.
I had rhinoplasty 10 years ago. Still till today I can't breathe from it, air is real tight to get in through nose, have to sniff a lot to breathe, very unattractive. Sunburn bothers nose a lot, causes a lot of pain. Have to use a neti pot 2 times a day to open up. The tightness causes a lot of dryness inside nose. Has made allergies worse. When breathe normal, breathing is loud. Feel lack of oxygen intake. What can be done, revision, meaning more money out of my pocket possibly wasted.
2.5 years post rhinoplasty/septoplasty for a deviated septum. Breathing improved significantly and nostrils more symmetrical. My old nose had a defined tip. My new tip is hard/ wider. I am also concerned about lingering swelling and numbness. My surgeon will perform a revision at low cost. His suggestion cartilage grafting over the mid dorsum to the tip + possible peritip grafting for slight lengthening/tip sharpening Am I a good candidate, what are potential risks, other recommendations?
Hello . I had surgery two and a half years ago. My surgeon said that at the same time, in order to fix the gummy smile, we will pull your nose down a little and keep it in its new position with the septum extension so that the upper lip also comes down a little. After surgery I have chronic (intermittent) congestion. Also, runny nose when eating or in cold weather. Can this change in the position of the nose be the cause of these breathing problems - is there a change in the air flow pattern?
