12 Weeks
Phew, it's been a hectic month! My husband left to work in Saudi Arabia back on January 28th and I have been on the go every since. I am not sure where the last twelve weeks have went, but here I am, three months post-op. At my last doctor's appointment, which would have been around nine weeks, I was released to resume light exercise. He said I could walk on the treadmill for 15 minutes and use the elliptical for 15 minutes. I have been doing that at least three times per week and physically feel like I could do more, but I am trying to behave. My weight has been constant, around 140 and appetite is regular.
If you have been following my post, you will recall I've had some SLOW healing groin incisions. The pictures look bad, but it wasn't that bad. They were never infected, just took forever to heal. As you will see in the pictures I am posting today, I am down to about a one inch spot on my right side incision, which I expect will heal completely in the next week or so.
My tummy tuck was 100% worth it, I would have paid a million bucks for it. I have mixed emotions about my thigh lift. I am happy that my upper thighs do not sag, but I chose to have the full inner thigh incisions (almost down to my knees), thinking the upper legs as a whole would be tighter and I still have some fat on the insides of my knees, that I do not like. I will be discussing this with the doctor at my next appointment in April and see if there is anything he can do, perhaps redo them. Based on how long the groin incisions took to heal, I would never have those scars revised. They are going to be thick, but the placement could not be much better.
I may have mentioned this is a previous post, but I have been 110% satisfied with Dr. DiNick and his entire staff, they are wonderful.

3 Week Update
It's a few days past three weeks, but the pictures I am uploading are from three weeks. I started driving again, this past Saturday and it's not all it's cracked up to be, so uncomfortable. Mentally I am ready to get out of the house, but have been doing the bare minimum.
Last week, I might have made the mistake of looking at my groin incisions. The scabs have come off on the very inner part and they are a yellowish color. No, odor or no seeping/liquid, but I was concerned about the color, so contacted the surgeons office. The reason I say I may have made a mistake is because they may have looked like this the whole time. It took a couple days for them to get back to me because the nurse was out of the office, but I finally emailed some pics to the doctor, he called back and said there was nothing to worry about, just continue keeping them dry. Well, as you all know, that is easier said than done. I have been using unscented wipes on the incisions after each bathroom use, as well as blow drying on the cool setting. I also, so the same after each shower. He said no powder, so I am at a loss, other than sitting around with my legs wide open. For those of you that have been through this, are there some tricks of the trade that I am missing?
I am scheduled to have two more weeks off work, but have no idea what I am going to do when I return. I guess I'll take my blow dryer and go to the bathroom and blow dry every hour :-)
My stomach incision is feeling great, nearly all of the scabs have come off and I can sneeze without feeling like I am going to die. I am wearing my abdominal binder about 23 hours a day because I feel so much more secure with it on. Once my groin incisions heal, I will convert to the full body garment.
Today is my husbands last day of work at his current plant and Monday he leaves for Saudi Arabia. He took the rest of the week off, so we could spend time together, so I feel terrible that I am not going to do much, but of course he understands. My inner legs feel like they are on fire when I walk too much. I even invested in boys boxer briefs, but nothing keep me 100% dry.
I am attaching pictures of my groin incisions and would greatly appreciate any feedback. Did your incisions look like this? How long did they take to finally heal? What did you do to keep them dry, etc.?

11 Days
Hello All,
I am 11 days post op and feeling pretty good. Today was the hubby's first day back to work, so kids are in school and it's my first day with the house to myself.
I went to the doctor Saturday (two days ago) and he removed three of my drains, which leaves me with two. Don't get me wrong, I am thankful, but I am also looking forward to getting the other two out this coming Saturday. I know it's was for the best to keep them, but the output is just so low, I think they could have been removed. Oh well, better safe than sorry. The first night one of the drain holes was a little yellow versus red and scabbing like the other two, so I put triple antibiotic on all of them and last night it was still yellow, but was crusting, so praying it's not infected.
Saturday was also my first day out of the house since returning from surgery. I went to the doctor (two hours away), took a pain pill before we left, so slept most of the way, then managed to attend my son's basketball games. I took a neck pillow to sit on and did pretty good. I had to get up every chance I could, between halves, between games, etc. and luckily we were the last games of the day, so there was not a game on the next court over, so I could take a little walk to stretch and give my butt a break.
Last night I decided I was going to try sleeping in our bed for the first time and it was amazing. I awoke a few times, but went right back to sleep. I just put four pillows behind me to assure I would be able to get up, but hubby was getting up at the same time as me, just in case I needed a hand, but I did great. When everyone left for the day, I laid back down in the chair. I think I will continue using the chair for naps, while they are gone, just to be safe.
I am off all pain medicine now and doing great. The incisions under my butt cheeks are still very tender when I sit, but my stomach feels great other than a little pulling here and there. I "think" I finally have my laxative quantity versus meds/iron supplement figured out. Bowel movements were very painful the first 2-3 times and I kept increasing laxative and I think the happy medium is that I need to take two per day.
I am interested to see how my belly button will turn out. It's just so hard to tell at this point because it's still covered in blood/glue and because things change so much. Was anyone's perfect from the beginning or was everyone worried and then they turned out great? A couple pieces of the scabbing on my side has come off and the scar looks great underneath. There is one spot where I have a lump at the top of my vertical belly incision, but the surgeon said I would be able to massage that out with time.
Well, I am off to start my day. I am feeling a lot of energy, so I am going to do some light cleaning before I need to take a nap :-) Take care!
