I had been dreaming about getting a breast...

I had been dreaming about getting a breast augmentation since I was about 16 years old but thought I would never be able to afford, or never be brave enough to go through with it. Christmas 2016 I received some compensation money and decided to go for some consultations to see if I was still interested. After going to 3 different companies I had nearly given up as I didn't feel comfortable that anybody actually knew 100% what they were talking about and felt like they were just interested in taking my money rather than helping me out. I finally tried the VIP Cosmetics and I'm so glad I did! The woman who was my first point of contact answered many questions, told me all the options and then sent me documents in the post so I could have a proper look through. After meeting my surgeon I had decided that I definitely wanted to go through with breast augmentation and this surgeon was definitely the one I wanted to do my operation. My surgeon Mr Mehboob Ali had discussed everything I needed to know; general information about breast augmentation, the type, shape and size of the breast implants, where the implants can be put (above or under the muscle), the risks of the surgery, what to expect on the day of the surgery, being registered to the breast and cosmetic implant registry (personal choice) and he also showed me previous success stories which I was amazed by. I never felt pressured by my surgeon - in fact I was nothing but excited when I had finally booked my date. On the day of my surgery I was obviously very very nervous, Mr Mehboob Ali came to visit me on the morning, made sure I was OK and drew all the markings on my body ready for the op. The anesthetist also came to visit me just to again see how I was and to explain what he would be doing throughout the procedure which put me at ease as I was a little nervous abut being put to sleep! I was taken down and all I remember was the needle being put in my arm and the next minute I was awake again! I was so pleased when I woke up from my surgery and I couldn't wait to have a look but of course I was bandaged up so I could heal. The nurses kept me downstairs until I had came around properly - they gave me some water, made sure I was OK and helped me into my new bra (which gain, my surgeon had helped me decide which post op bra and size would be best for me). I was then taken to my room to rest and see my family. I stayed overnight and the nurses were in every few hours checking up on me, making sure I was on enough pain killers and checking I was OK. My surgeon also popped in a few hours after surgery to see me and I couldn't wait to thank him. I can honestly say the pain was NOT anywhere near as I had expected. I am unsure if this is down to me having quite natural implants (I have gone from a 34A to a 34C so not too large!), down to my amazing surgeon or down to me having a pain threshold which I didn't realise was so high... but either way I was amazed! Yes I couldn't hardly move and definitely couldn't put any weight on to my arms or lie down, but all in all it really wasn't the agony I expected. Especially as my implants are underneath the muscle which is meant to be more painful! The next morning I was discharged with strong painkillers, some more information on aftercare, contact numbers in case I wanted to contact anyone, and an appointment date/time to have my bandages taken off. For the next two weeks I stayed rested up at home and basically did nothing - for the first few days I didn't move from my bed at all and although I was uncomfortable (after all you have to sleep sat up for a couple of days) I wasn't in as much pain as I anticipated. I only took my painkillers for the first 2 days and then I managed completely without them which i was amazed by - I honestly was expecting so much worse. I then attended to have my bandages taken off and when I got home again I was AMAZED, even now just 8 days after surgery my scars were tiny - barely noticeable at all, they were two thin scratch looking lines under my boobs that was it! I have attached a copy of my scars a few days after my bandages were taken off - can't remember exactly what point these pictures were taken but definitely were less than 2 weeks from my surgery date. I have had 2 more follow up appointments and I am so so happy with both the care I received and the overall outcome of my surgery. I have attached pictures of my scars now and also post op pictures from approx 3 weeks after surgery. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is considering it as it really has changed my life - I am so much more confident in myself and clothes/bikinis that I can now happily wear. It is a week of being stuck at home in pain but definitely worth the results!
