As a 48 year old woman, I was noticing that my face was appearing rough and had many age spots. I heard about Contour TRL and asked my dermatologist whether it would help. After a consult, Dr Kates considered me a good candidate and reviewed recovery and expectations.
Prior to the procedure, the dr applied a numbing cream and I took a pill to relax me. The procedure itself was slightly more painful than expected although I powered through it. Afterwards, I was sore and quite red.
Per instructions, I liberally applied Aquaphor several times per day. I also regularly applied cold wet gauze all over my face - which felt great! Over the course of about 3 days my skin peel dramatically. By the 3rd or fourth day, peeling had stopped and I had a clear, smooth complexion with no age spots. My face remained red for a full two weeks appearing like I had a bad sunburn.
I am extremely happy with my results and would definitely do it again in a few years as needed.

You look beautiful. In looking at your photos, you show a collage of days 1-2. The next picture says 3months post in the upper right hand corner. Did you stay that red for three months?

Thank you! The redness lasted about 2 weeks. It looked like a bad sunburn and gradually faded away.

You look so beautiful. I just had mine done less than a week ago and will be 49 in a few days! I'm glad to see that it works and was just as red if not worse. Yes lol slightly more painful than expected. And geez you look like your 20. I can't wait. All the best and Happy Holidays!

Thank you so much! You made my day! I'm sure you'll have great results. I definitely thought it was worth the pain trying to stay ahead of the aging battle!

You seriously look great! I'm headed in Jan 12 for Contour TRL. I'm nervous about how painful it will be. They are using numbing cream before and then reapplying half way through. Is this what you did? Does it help at all and could you take Tylenol before? I'm going to check if I can. So nervous but excited.

My doctor applied numbing cream just once prior to the procedure - but honestly i think it can only help so much since it only can penetrate so far. It did hurt but it did not hurt enough at any point where I was tempted to stop the procedure. I didn't take Tylenol so not sure if it would help. I was prescribed meds just prior to help me relax and I think that helped more than the numbing cream! I thought the results were worth the discomfort and would do it again. Good luck! I'm sure you'll look great!
