I did it! You know what it was not bad! I was very scared but the hospital staff at Memorial Hermann was fabulous. Dr. Howard was wonderful and took great care of me.
I had to have a lap band removal during my sleeve procedure and honestly I think all of the discomfort I experienced came from the scar tissue removal and the drainage tube. My stomach did not hurt and I experienced no gas pain. I did walk the evening after the surgery to help with that and it must have helped. I had some nausea from some of my pain meds but meds helped that too! On the second day I started with water and it stayed down so that was good. I walked but I still had a lot of drainage and there was pain from the tube. I went in on Tuesday the 7th and on Thursday the 9th I was able to start on my protein drinks in my little med cups I think they are 30cc. Everything was going well and I don't want to be an alarmist but the last thing that happened before discharge was the removal of the drainage tube and aghh did it hurt! I am at home drinking my protein and water with no problems and no reflux! I am really happy. I would also like to tell all of you I do not like to take pictures but evidently with my meds I told my family to snap away!

Well, I have been going thru the processes that the insurance requires for about 6 months and my surgery date is finally here! It's hard to believe and I am so very nervous but at 5' and 210 lb. it's time for a healthier me. I have most of the ailments that come with obesity my blood pressure is high, I have obstructive sleep apnea and a fatty liver. I hope that I will be able to lose enough weight that I will no longer have these issues. I have been reading everyone's posts to give me inspiration and bolster my nerve and it has helped me. I wanted to post too so that if there is anyone out there that is scared maybe my post can inspire them. The week long liquid diet has not been bad. I have tried a few different protein drinks and they taste pretty good and that is all I have had. Hopefully my liver has shrunk enough for my procedure guess I will find out tomorrow. I will be sure to upload pictures thru out my journey.

When is your surgery date? I am 46 years old, 5'2 @ 230 pounds. My surgery is on July 15th. So far I have not cheated. I have been on the clear liquid diet for 7 days now. Not sure how much I've lost... I think I'll wait until the weekend.
Well, I couldn't wait. ..I weigh 218! Celebrating already
That is a great update! You did great!! I am going through the 6 month wait and plan to practice as I have never done a liquid diet.
