5 weeks Post OP Already!!!!

The last week and a half has not been fun. I got a head cold that my hubby and daughter had but were over in 3 days, and here I am almost 2 weeks later and it went into my lungs. 5 weeks post op and coughing is not fun!! I had my post op appointment with my PS on Monday and she is very pleased with how I'm healing. I had a little incision open under my right breast, not sure if it's from the coughing or I may have picked up my toddler a little too soon.. whoops.. not doing that anymore. We like to sit on the floor and she crawls in my lap or I let her cuddle in bed with me when she is tired and CALM.. lol Anyways, then I went to see my family practitioner on Tuesday for the cough and lungs.. she put me on albuterol with my nebulizer to keep things lose in my lungs and not having to cough so hard along with Mucinex D. It's Thursday today and I had a much better day today than I've had over the last week and a half. My stomach feels very sore/bruised from the coughing. I am still in my body suit for 4 more weeks and could have let the binder go, but because of the cough I'm still wearing the binder. I'm still a little swollen and have some pleating still going on, but it's getting much better. I should take pics in the morning next time, I just took these and it's bed time, I'm always much more swollen at bed time than from when I first wake up. I'll have to remember to do that next time!

3 week Post op!!

I had my 3 week post op on Wednesday (Oct 4th).. I had a few concerns with incision sites, under both breast, my belly button, and one spot in my abdomen. Dr said everything is healing well and I had some stitches removed and it's been 2 days and I had another stitch come through the open spot under left breast. Since stitches being removed 2 days ago, my belly button is already noticeably better. The dr is pleased with my healing, and the Nurse Deanna (love her), has shown me proper care with the incisions. I am so incredibly happy with my results. It's only been 3 weeks and I can't wait to be able to get back in the gym. I finally have my waist back!!! Never thought I would see it again!! I still get a little sore at night, but that's usually on the days I do a little too much. My scars from the lift (around nipples and the scar down the breast) are already doing great and I haven't even started my scar therapy yet! My results are better than I could have hoped for!

Drain is out!!!!

I had my second post op on day 8. I was able to have my drain out and had a little fluid removed from my right breast, wasn't painful at all, just a little discomfort. I'm doing really well, I make sure I move a lot but try not to over do it. I am 11 days post op today and life is getting back to normal and I haven't taken any pain meds for 3 days except an Advil 3 days ago, I will take a muscle relaxer at night because my muscles seem a little sore by night time. I pick my 2 year old up from daycare bus she has a step to climb in and out of SUV and by the time I pick her up I have my 9 year old to help me. I get around well, I never had a problem with constipation or getting up and down on the toilet, use your legs!! My breast have not really bothered me, except my left breast muscle was a little more sore. Overall, this experience has not been even half as bad as I thought it was going to be from reading so many stories on here. With that said, stay positive, and don't compare your recovery to anybody else, we all heal differently. Take good care of your body with diet and exercise and research your surgeon!!
