I have been stalking RS for months and finally decided to post my journey! I took the time to post my journey on my phone yesterday but I don't think it submitted. So here goes for round 2...I'm a 38 years young with 1 kid in college and all my life I struggled with very large breast. I'm currently a size 36 H/I - the last bra I bought was an I. The size of my breast never bothered me when I was younger but as I get older gravity is taking over more and more. The pain in my neck and back drove me crazy and I did not like the size of my areola. In Jun/July 2014 I started researching BR procedures and by November I decided on my surgeon and procedure was on January 7th.
I wanted to get the reduction to feel better in my back and neck strain, I wanted to be able to wear cute shirts without having to buy a large to accommodate my bulging breasts. I also wanted to feel more comfortable when working out - I often had to double up on sports bras just to hold my ta-ta's down while working out.
Like I said, my surgery was on the 7th and it was seamless process. I arrived at the hospital at 5am and was back home by 12:30 pm. The first day was a lot of pain but manageable - the biggest issue for me on the 1 day post op was getting up with out using my own weight and wiping myself after using bathroom. Day 3 I took my first shower first thing in the morning before my husband left for work and that was very stressful because I didn't have range of motion in my arms and I felt very week. Needless to say my shower was short lived and I did more of a rinse than anything else. Day 4 I noticed a few of things. 1) I hadn't had a BM since the day before the surgery and was extremely constipated. I did some lurking on RS to see if anyone else experienced this and found it was probably due the paid meds, 2) on-going pain near my arm pit that was very sensitive to the touch and 3) the swelling my breast not going down and my breast felt very hard. So I called the PS nurse and she advised that I take a stool softner as the constipation is prolly due to the pain meds and to stop the meds when I can, she mentioned the soreness under the arm is where alot of lymph nodes are and does take more time to heal she also said it could be an indication of excess movement on my part so make sure I keep my elbows to my side and for the swelling I found I - or should I say my husband was wrapping the dressing around the front and back of my chest and I was also wrapping an Ace bandage and wearing the surgical bra...once the nurse told me I should only have the gauze placed in the front and not to wrap I took down my husbands attempt to help keep everything in place and the swelling went down immediately.
Overall, I'm very happy with the results and I'm very happy with the PS I chose. I love they way my new ta-ta's look and I cant wait to see how they look in cute shirts. I'm posting some pics (i wish i had before pics but i don't). I love the pic of me in the sports bra - before the BR my ta-ta's would have busted the seams of that bra. I went for my first post-op visit yesterday and he said i'm healing well and I can wear sports bra's if I like. I have dissolvable stitches and will need to go back in 2 weeks to remove the Prineo tape. Today is my first full week po-op and I feel great. I still don't have full range of motion so I'm limited on my activities. I'm out of work for a full 2 weeks and I think I'll need every bit of it. I asked my doc if he had an idea of my cup size he said until all of the swelling goes down and I'm completely healed he couldn't be sure but he's guessing I'm a full C cup and that's exactly where I wanted to be. My husband and daughter have been uber supportive and I could not have done it with out them.
Now that my ta-ta's are complete and looking fine as wine, I want to start planning for my TT. I'm not sure if I'm going to use the same doctor because I keep hearing so much about Dr. Cortes and the hourglass TT. In any event, I'm planning to get the TT right after Thanksgiving and will take the whole month of December off for recovery. By the end of the month I want to have the doctor selected and procedure selected. With that being said I have a huge roadblock, as I'm researching my husband has been reviewing with me and once he saw the scars and the reviews he's not opting out and saying I don't needed and previously he was all for it until he saw the pics in the reviews. I look at this way, I'm touched that he says I don't need and he loves me just the way I am - I'm very thankful that he feels that way but I know he would appreciate the way I look once I get the TT. At the end of the day I'm doing this for me having more gut than butt is not cute!
I'll keep posting my BR progress and TT journey.
P.S. I love this site!!

Day 7 and feeling great!
thatprettygurlJanuary 15, 2015
i have to wait for my hubby to get home from work to take my showers as i'm still not able to dry off and put on shirts that go over my head without his help. I decided to post some more pics of my recovery. I had my hubby help me with a shirt i love from the Limited and i love the way it looks with my new boobies. I wish I had a pic of how they looked before but anyway...
I tried to wear my sports bra again today but i don't like the way it feels against my incisions so i'm just wearing my shirt with the gauze inside under my incision. My PS suggested that I don't cover my nipples with the gauze but they are so sensitive it's hard not to cover them.
I'll try to post more pics in a couple of days...
Happy healing!!!

With beauty comes pain

I'm still very happy I had the BR sx but I really want my range of motion back. I'm hesitant to stretch my arms out very far as I don't want to damage my stitches and have anything come open. My incision areas are also starting to itch but I've been good about not scratching. I still don't know what size I am yet but they are looking better each day. I'm also getting cabin fever and I need to get out this house. I was gonna try to go to work tmrw just for a half day just to get used to getting back into the swing of things but my husband is dead set against it. He doesn't think I'm ready. I guess I'm working from home.
I'm curious as to what my scar looks like because I can't see it with the tape covering it. It's day 8 and my nipples are still very very sensitive to the touch. They are also hard all the time...has anyone else experienced this?
