so it's been 14 days since my surgery and i feel great. my incisions are still healing. today i noticed a little pink skin on the bottom right breast. i think it's due to the tape and it pulled of a scab. tonight when I changed clothing i noticed pink on the left breast too. again, i think it's from the friction from the tape. the tape is peeling off and i'm cutting off the pieces that are ready to come off but it starting to become irritating. i want to be careful about the incision and watch for the possibilities of keloids. i've never cut myself before so i'm not sure if i'm prone to keloid.
other things i've noticed. my breast are still sore to the touch and my nipples are so sensitive. i feel everything. I'm still sleeping on my pack. I'm completely off pain meds.
i went back to work on Monday. the first few days i can only work til about 2pm. today i worked until 4:30pm. i will admit by the time 2pm rolls around i am beat. i'm listening to my body and when i start feeling like that i need to leave.
i'm ready to get back to the gym but my PS says i need to wait another week. i have been doing sit ups every morning before work.
the decision to get the BR is still one of the best things i could have done for me!! I called my PS office to ask for my pre-op pic and they sent to me so i'll share with you all. BTW, if I haven't said it before I love the attention to detail my PS office provides.
In the pics you will see that my old breast were saggy and the areola were huge. I'm glad with new look and hope to continue healing successfully.
I'm happily healing!!!

Yes, I'm feeling good today...

Today is a much better day than yesterday. So I decided I was going to take my daughter to the mall to get her some new work attire and I thought this will be a good time for me to get out the house since my attempts at trying to go to work did not pan out so well. I started off by driving which I hadn't done since surgery and it was cool. The problem set in when I started walking thru the mall and found myself out of breath and walking very slow. I was quite surprised and we had to call the mall visit very short.
This is Day 11 and here's what I can do myself like the big girl I am: take a shower and dry off, put shirts on over my head, reach for items on higher shelves, wrap my scarf around my head and plenty more). I'm excited about my healing process and little steps to getting back to normal.
My nipples don't seem to be as hard as they have been for the past couple days. (((Yeah)))
I'm feeling really good today. We went to church and brunch with friends.
The biggest thing I've noticed is my gut...it's got to go. buh bye, au revoir, arrivederci, adios!
I'm posting some new pics to show my progress. I was able to see the stitching on the side and I'm a little concerned about puckering at the end of the scar. I'm not sure if it's normal for it to look like this in the early stages. Has anyone experienced this with your scarring? Does it go down? My next post op visit with PS is on the 29th. I'm told he will give me some scaring cream that was included in my BR costs.

Wow! Your surgeon did such a great job! Congrats!!! I go for my consult on Wednesday! So excited!!!!

Thanks and good luck jshrza. Is this your first consultation?

It's my second consultation. Different doctor. The first doctor does amazing work and came highly recommended but their practice doesn't accept any insurance. So, I am going to see a surgeon who was recommended by my OBGYN and who is in network with my BCBS insurance. Fingers crossed I like this one and that insurance comes back quickly with a resounding "YES"!!!!

With beauty comes pain

I'm still very happy I had the BR sx but I really want my range of motion back. I'm hesitant to stretch my arms out very far as I don't want to damage my stitches and have anything come open. My incision areas are also starting to itch but I've been good about not scratching. I still don't know what size I am yet but they are looking better each day. I'm also getting cabin fever and I need to get out this house. I was gonna try to go to work tmrw just for a half day just to get used to getting back into the swing of things but my husband is dead set against it. He doesn't think I'm ready. I guess I'm working from home.
I'm curious as to what my scar looks like because I can't see it with the tape covering it. It's day 8 and my nipples are still very very sensitive to the touch. They are also hard all the time...has anyone else experienced this?
