This treatment is an absolute game-changer. I starting researching my options for some type of treatment that would help me with my constant urge to urinate and a tiny bit of urine would sometimes come out when I would exercise (and I LIVE in yoga pants). Any color but black workout pants were out of the question. No pills were working — they actually always seemed to make my urge and minor incontinence worse. With my schedule and career, I don’t have the time for surgery or downtime. As I was researching alternative treatments options, I came across ThermiVA. There were a lot of medical spas and plastic surgeons doing this treatment in my area, but it was VERY important to me to have this done by an experienced, knowledgeable physician. My ob/gyn does not do this procedure, and I wanted to be sure anyone working on me below the belt had the credentials like Dr. Drake (check out her website) being that she is FEMALE AND A OB/GYNECOLOGIST. We spoke over the phone, and I immediately connected with her and felt comfortable talking about my “issues.” She was very easy to talk to and honest about what to expect with the ThermiVA treatments. She educated me on everything about the treatment PERSONALLY. I was astonished I didn’t have to get a consult from an medical assistant or someone else first. This treatment and Dr. Drake have changed my life. I am a 38 year old female with no children, so I was not even worried about the “aesthetic” aspect, but that has just been icing on the cake. And, there have been so many other benefits, there is a LOT of icing on the cake. So keep reading. Dr. Drake consulted with me for almost half an hour before even starting my treatment. She is very warm, understanding and easy to talk to. Next, she left the room and I took my underwear and skirt off, sat down on the table and had a nice fluffy blanket to cover my lower half with. When she came back in the room, she turned on the machine and I laid back and put my feet into the stirrups. She inserted into my vagina what is like a warm lubricant. Next she inserted a small “probe,” but she had showed it to me before the treatment and it is nothing to be scared of, it isn’t any bigger than the size of like a finger. It was actually pleasantly warm as she worked on my inner vagina, and we just talked about my concerns, life, etc. After about 20 min (or so) of having that in my vagina, she took it out and rubbed it around my outer parts for what was about 10-15 minutes. It was warm, but she would ask if was getting too hot, which it wasn’t for me, however, if it did she could lower the temperature, she told me. Treatment lasted 30 minutes or so. It felt good, and I was happy. I had read some RealSelf reviews on ThermiVA, so I had asked her to take my own before and after pictures on my phone. She took an after, walked out of the room, and I wiped off the lubricant with some baby wipes and got dressed. She came back in and discussed with me a little more and told me I could resume sexual activity, exercise, etc immediately. I didn’t tell my husband that I was doing this, because I wanted to see if he could tell. And, oh boy, he immediately mentioned how tight and how wet I was (although that wasn’t my main concern). He thought I used lube without telling him. Here are all the benefits I have noticed so far (Dr. Drake had also educated me that I could experience some or more of these) and I just had my second treatment (out of a series of three) last week. These are the main benefits I personally have noticed so far: -less urgency -less incontinence (this apparently gets better and better with each treatment) -tighter vagina -more lubrication (I get extremely wet now when aroused) -on the outside I look so much better I drove pretty far outside my area to see her, and I felt it was worth driving the “extra mile.” This was not something I would want Groupon prices on. I would pay whatever price to have this level of service and knowledge of a physician who is performing the service herself. Just like you wouldn’t go see your eye doctor for a broken bone. Her follow-up is excellent, she is easy to reach, and I look forward to my next treatment later this month. WELL worth it! I will keep post my third treatment pics once it’s done.
