So I had my second treatment on 12/18.... This time the levulan stung and I felt very little burning during the light treatment. I'm still breaking out on my chin and neck and have small white heads around my nose. I've also changes from using cetaphil to organic coconut oil to moisturize plus I read it has vitamins to heal and fade scars. Also its antifungal and antibacterial.... Its been 2 days using coconut oil. I never peels and people tell me i just look lightly sunburn. Some people tell me my skin looks better but I don't see the difference, maybe I'm impatient I just want clearer skin ASAP. I have one more treatment in January and the Dr says if she doesn't see improvements my options are Accutane or spiralin (not sure if I spelled it right).

I never went back for the past treatment my face has cleared up alot but I'm still getting break out but not the huge cystic ones... I was told I probably need more than 3 treatments but that's all Kaiser Permanente wants to give... But I'm definitely going to try and get more treatments done

I hope you will post more photos and consider continuing with the treatment. I learned about this procedure recently from my sister, who had 1 treatment this week for precancerous skin spots and another friend who also had treatment for the same reason within the last 2 months. Both reacted terribly sensitively to the treatment. My sister says it's hard to talk and feels very burned. But I know from using peels that the skin will renew over time and having had acne in my youth how bad it made me feel. I see a huge improvement in your skin from the pictures after the second treatment and wish you well with improving your skin. As another aside, I had a really bad overbite and had braces in my late 30's, which has made a huge difference in my self confidence. Wishing you well!

Hi there! Great results so far! Definitely stick to it. I recommend getting a chemical peel at some point to speed up the process and get rid of scars. It's uncomfortable and you'll be in hiding for 3 days while your face peels but it's so worth it to get that fresh smooth baby skin underneath. Also I suggest moisturizing with Hemp Seed Oil instead of the coconut oil-- has a comodegenic rating of 0 meaning it does not clog pores at all while coconut oil and other oils do and can cause blackheads even if they're on the low rating. Hemp is the only one that has a rating of zero plus all the other benefits. :) Good luck and keep us posted on your progress! Please do not go on accutane/spiralin or any antibiotics....those are extremely extremely damaging and I promise you'll get clear without it. Also look in to ordering Estroblock...I am only on it for a month and they say it takes 3 months to see improvements but i already do. it's all natural and good for you, just rids the body of excess harmful estrogens that cause acne. I've had acne since I was 13, big cystic clusters I've tried everything from pills,creams, natural remedies, Accutane .... Blah blah blah... So I had my PDT on 11/10/14... No pain no swelling no peeling no scabs or crusting... Only itchy and kinda dry and broke out on my chin, which I heard a purge is normal... I'm wondering if its even going to work... Will post updates!!!

So far I still have not peeled or scabbed no pain no crusting some scaly dry patches and some itching and the new pimples are drying up and the scars look lighter per my mom... Lol I still think its early to tell or maybe I'm just scared and waiting for my usual flare ups I will post updates

I've suffered from acne since I was just 8 years old. For years I visited a dermatologist who was unable to diagnose the cause of my problem and as I grew older the acne worsened.
