Could Not Have Had a Better Experience! - Woodbury, MN

I am a 39 year old female   I have never been rail thin but was very athletic   My stomach was never an area that I was able to be proud of. After the birth of my twin boys 10 years ago via C-section (combined weight of just under 14 lbs) it was a bit of a mess.  I am not a vein person and was so happy and busy being a Mommy I didn't care at the time.  I also had a rare auto immune bleeding disorder.  Plastic surgery would never be in the cards for me. My pregnancy was risky in itself.  3 years ago I underwent a Splenectomy and it put me in remission from the disease.

After staying in a normal platelet range and saving up, my hubby and I agreed it was time!   I researched Plastic Surgeons in the Twin Cities.  I have only been here a year and didn't know anyone that had a TT here so I didn't have any referrals.

I stumbled upon Dr Rocheford while looking on-line for local surgeons.    Her office was in the same city in which I live, Woodbury.  I thought it would be so convenient for follow ups etc.    I then was on Real Self looking at before and after pics.  I clicked on a set of pics about half way down the first page that appealed to me.  It was the most impressive transformation and the results were the same look I wanted. Low and behold it was a patient of Dr. Rocheford's!  I knew it was meant to be.  I set up a consult.

As soon as I arrived I was impressed with the office and staff.  I met her nurse Bonnie (who has been fantastic with pre and post op questions and care).   I then met Dr Rocheford.  She has an amazing bedside manner.  She is straightforward, professional and very friendly.  She and I are close in age, have children the same age and being a female, just totally gets it!    I was impressed with her album of pictures and I knew I was not going to go to any additional consults.  She was the one!

The morning of surgery I was so happy to see her.  She was so reassuring  She greeted me, held my hand and her confidence and smile put me at ease.   Her team at the surgical center were top notch.  I have had several non-elective surgeries in the past, at hospitals and this was by far the best experience I have ever had.

I'm almost 5 weeks post op. So far so good! The way she does the belly button is very realistic because she uses original and pulls it through to new location while improving its appearance. She is really conservative without compromising results. I've been standing upright since the end of week one so she doesn't pull skin dangerously tight. My muscle repair was fantastic and I'm very taut. I've been up and around since 2.5 weeks.

I pretty much told the whole neighborhood what I was doing so there would be no chitter chatter. What I came to find was support from my wonderful friends and neighbors.   I now have three friends asking a lot of questions and will most likely have the procedure in the future.  Without any hesitation I have told them Dr. Rocheford is the best!

I just went in for Botox as well and will continue to go to her office injectables when needed.

I do have a question. How did it feel when you woke up from the procedure? Was it very painful on the 2nd more than the 1st day? I've heard mention that the 2nd day is worse than the 1st.

Hi Bella. I just posted to your blog. I wrote you a short novel :-). There is so much so much to share when reflecting back!

PS. Both days will be a blur. Just try to focus on one day at a time. Take your meds on time. You should not have pain. More of an ache in back (valium helps) and just exhaustion. As you wean off meds etc you might have a bit but tolerable pain. Now at 5 weeks you start to feel more healing pain. Incision tender, swelling and as nerves start to do their thing in coming back together sometimes a burning sensation. All totally normal. Tylenol and Advil should do the trick.

Your after photos look great! I'm in MN as well and have been researching PSs for a TT and BA. It's weird that in my search, Dr. Rocheford never came up. I will absolutely research her now thanks to you. If you have time, I'd love for you to read my story and give any input or advice. Please feel free to personally message me too. I'd really appreciate anything you have to say because I'm really stuck right now on which PS to go with. Thanks in advance for your time and happy healing!
