32 Years Old, 2 Kids, 5ft Tall and Horrible Genetics! - Woodbury, MN

I was graced with horrible genetics in the area of skin elasticity; I'm also 5ft tall so my 2 pregnancies had nowhere to go but out. I had grown up with a Mom who was incredibly self conscious of her body - which resulted in me having confidence issues as a teen as well. After the birth of my 1st daughter I decided quite quickly that I didn't want her to grow up with a Mom who has body image issues; so I started saving money to have an abdominoplasty after we were done having kids. We had our 2nd daughter nearly 4 years later and I had a post-partum tubal ligation. After getting back to my pre-pregnancy weight within a few months and killing it at the gym for nearly a year I knew for certain the only way get rid of the saggy, stretched out skin was to get it cut off. I was referred to Dr. Rocheford by 2 friends, one of which had a TT & BA by her a few years ago. I researched her website and called to schedule an consult. They were very informative during the call, letting me know what to expect, obtaining my address to send me some literature ahead of time, and also letting me know there was a consult fee, but a $25 off coupon available on the website, along with pricing estimates.
I intentionally scheduled my consult a couple months ahead of time - knowing exactly when I wanted to have my surgery (for PTO/work reasons and the least impact on my family).
Prior to the consult, I had spent hours and hours of researching, reading & watching videos ahead of time on the different techniques, recovery and reviews and came prepared with a long list of questions. At the consult, Dr. Rocheford spent tons of time with me - answering all of my questions and making sure I understood the full nature of the procedure. After the consult, Bonnie came in and sat with me to talk price, the pre-op physical requirements, forms and scheduling. I had another consult setup the following week; but I knew right away that Rocheford was likely where I was going to go so I went ahead and had Bonnie pencil me in for a surgery date (and I was right - that other consult was a horrible disaster).
Between the surgery and the consult, I had tons of questions and called what seemed like daily to harass Bonnie. She always answered politely and was very helpful. I also ended up getting a nasty cold a few days prior to my surgery which kept getting worse and Dr. Rocheford called in antibiotics for me just to be safe. On the day of surgery it was a blur but I remember I wanted to jump off the bed and go running down the road before being wheeled into surgery - I was so nervous. The day of and the weeks after surgery I felt 100% clear and conscious at that time, but looking back a few months after it's all a fog now. I remember the first few days sucked - but my recovery was MUCH easier that I psyched myself up to be. I was up and hunched over, walking around and making myself food and coffee in short bursts the day after surgery. Bonnie & Dr. R were always very accommodating and helpful at my checkups - knowing what ways I can move comfortably and what ways I needed assistance.
I'm very happy with my results - I'm no bikini model, but I don't have a muffin top anymore and feel much more comfortable in my skin. I recommend Dr. R and should I have any future procedures I won't think twice about seeing her again.
My scar is low, no issues with my incision - and it's a very clean, symmetrical cut.
