I made it!
$7,400
Well I made it through surgery without a hitch! My doctor and nurses all said it went really great. The staff who worked on me and took care of me were excellent!
I had my follow up appointment this morning. My doctor told me that she removed 1.01 pounds of skin, tissues, and fat. She said I had separation the whole length of my abdomen with the worst of it being the belly button and lower abdomen area. My amazing man took a few pictures for me during my appointment.
I’m still in quite a bit of pain even on the pain meds I was given. And peeing has been a huge challenge. It just doesn’t all want to come out, so yesterday I was getting up to use the bathroom every 20-40 minutes. I’ve been pounding water like crazy. It’s starting to get better though.
I can’t believe my operation is done! I’m really excited to see the final results!!!

Nerves!
Well I’m one week away and I’ve been feeling very nervous the past two weeks. But I suppose that is to be expected when you undergo an elective surgery or any surgery for that matter. My biggest fears are there will be some sort of complication during surgery and that my outcome will be less than desirable. I am trying to push those fears and nerves aside and focus on the good and what I want.
I feel very fortunate to be able to get this surgery and to have all the support that I do. I am lucky and loved.
These past couple of weeks I’ve had my appointment for pre and post surgical care as well as my pre-op physical, filled my prescriptions, pre-made and froze meals, and made sure everything is in order for the month of April. I have a few more meals I’d like to make and will deep clean the house one last time before next Monday. Then it’s all up to my amazing man to take over.
I can’t believe it’s 7 days away already! Almost time to prep my recovery space!

I can't believe it! I am 4 weeks away from my scheduled tummy tuck!!! If you can't tell, I am really excited about it! This has been a long time coming for me; about 8 years of contemplation. I have gone back and forth over the years on whether or not to get this procedure. After lots of encouragement from my family and friends, I decided this past November to go for it. I made a consultation with a highly recommended top surgeon in my area and I loved her! It did not take me long to schedule my tummy tuck with her.
My number one reason for wanting this procedure is to repair my abdominal muscles that have been separated since the birth of my oldest child. The separation got a lot worse with my second pregnancy. Since then I have tried very hard to repair this separation, but the progress I make never holds. I am super excited to have the functionality back in my abdomen and to not be limited in the things I can do in the gym and elsewhere! I have to say that I am looking forward to that the most.
I am also pretty excited to not have my pants dig into my stomach. Ouch! It will be really nice to have a flat stomach again and to not spend the rest of my thirties hiding it like I did in my twenties. Oh and bikinis! I never thought I would be able to wear one again, but my Dr. said I will be able to. Yay!!!
I will spend the rest of this month preparing and getting things ready around my house. Four weeks will go by really fast!

Really?! I can’t wait to see your pictures! How exciting that you will finally get it done! It certainly isn’t an easy decision to make, but it sounds like it’ll be worth it.

it is definitely a long painful journey... jk... it’s tough and painful but 100% worth it. you need to make sure have someone with you 24/7 the first week to help you it’s about everything that you need to recover. Dr. Heather and staffs always helpful and resourceful so make sure ask if you have anything you want to know. My recovery is right on track and I’m now back to work with some restrictions. But make sure rest, rest and rest the first week. I’m now completely done with Oxi pain pills and rely on extra strength Tylenol for pain. you really don’t want to get addicted to the Oxi. Anyway, if anything comes up and you need my help, I will glad to talk to you OR just text Doc.. she can help you too.
