Three Days Post-Op
I had my surgery on Monday! The nurse called me on Friday to give me information on my surgery time but she also told me that my main doctor never forwarded them my information. It was pretty frustrating since I contacted my doctor on the 17th of June! She had to get on the phone and call them herself.
Monday morning felt like a dream. It was so quick. First they did all these tests and then they put me under. I came to a few hours later in the recovery room. It felt like I was just under for 10 minutes. Amazing how that works. :) The team was wonderful. Everyone was so kind. I have a drain on my right side and my breast already feels smaller. I had a close friend stay with me on Monday while my boyfriend was at work. It hasn't been as bad as I thought it was going to be. The pain was bearable. I was a little worried about sleep since I sleep on my stomach but we've been making it work. I had a followup appointment today and was told that I can get the drain out on Friday! What a wonderful journey so far. I know I am supposed to take things slow but I tried on a tank top yesterday and everything looks amazing.

I have had uneven breasts for as long as I can...
I have had uneven breasts for as long as I can remember. Earlier this year I started researching what I can do because I am so sick of hiding behind scarves and stuffing one boob! I wasn't serious at first because my doctor told me insurance would not cover for it since it is considered "cosmetic" surgery. One breast is currently a B/small C while the other is a DDD. To me, this is a nightmare! The more I researched, the more I became determined to get it fixed, no matter how much it costs.
My doctor referred me to a plastic surgeon for a consultation in May. I also did a lot of research and went to a different plastic surgeon in June for another consultation. He is pretty well known in my town and have done work on some of my friends. I am going to reduce and lift my right breast to match or come as close as possible to my left. The procedure is going to cost close to $6,000. I went in the day after my consultation and booked the date...July 13th.
I have told a few close friends about the procedure. Their first reaction is always, "Yeah, but we can never tell. It's only you." or "But everyone has uneven breasts." They don't understand the struggles that I have gone through ever since these things sprouted on me. No cute swimsuits, no tight shirts, I have been missing out on so much! It's always big frumpy sweaters or it's stuffing, stuffing, stuffing.
My boyfriend is very supportive. I was joking with him the other day when I found an old picture of us during the very early days of our relationship. We were at a formal and I was wearing this white gown. I said to him, "Did you know there were two socks in my left boob that whole night?" Hahahaha. Never again. I cannot wait! It's almost like a chance to start over with my life. ;)
