My first introductory post – Transgender Breast Augmentation

Hi, It’s so wonderful to discover Real Self, sorry to say my first attempt went a touch wrong, but here’s hoping I’m on track now. Anyway, you’re with pre-op transgender Philippa (Pippa) I was born back in June 1946, and live on the south coast of UK in Wimborne Minster, Dorset.
I have been with The Laurels, NHS, Transgender Clinic in Exeter, now for just over two years, after starting my pre-op transgender journey after having my breast implant surgery done by a truly wonderful surgeon, Mr Michael Graham at The Winterbourne Hospital, in Dorchester back in July 2011.
I had met him a month so as earlier for a consultation, after being recommended to him by a generic girlfriend, whose surgery had been done by him 4 years previous. I was so at ease and filled with confidence during the meeting and was so pleased that he accepted to do my surgery. Due to my small build, he told me the maximum implant my frame as he called it, could accept would be 290g. It was at 1pm on 5th July 2011 that I found myself entering theatre on my first stage of my transition journey.
One question girlfriends and acquaintances always ask is, was it painful? I can honestly reply to this that I just don’t know. I vaguely remember coming around after my operation, all that time ago, to find my bandaged bumps covering my two 290g Allergan filled boobs, but never associate any pain with it what so ever. I have been told that when some of us want something so bad, as I wanted my breasts, endorphins tend to kick in and shut out any pain. I’m sure this was certainly true for me.
It was certainly then after my breast implant operation, that my female true real-self emerged, and I started to live full time as the person I am today, in a lifestyle I thoroughly love and enjoy. My only regret being that I did not listen to my inner self much more earlier in my life.
I am now on the list with another of Britain’s top surgeons, Mr Thomas in Brighton for my Sex Reassignment Surgery, and had my first consultation with him and his team at the end of January 2018. This is such an exciting time for me, and I would love to thank this wonderful forum for providing me with an exciting inspiring video at https://youtu.be/R9TGQIP-VLg One thing I must add, is that I’ve always had quite a narcissistic photographic streak, so I hope I can contribute something back to the site, certainly in my early post-op days and months.

Do you still handle the hormones well at your age? I mean, estrogen is more associated with cardiovascular risks in older trans women. Do they have you on low doses or just a regular transition dose? What about your sexuality? Are you a lesbian or a straight woman? I’m a heterosexual trans woman myself. I transitioned a bit before I turned 20. Never regretted anything. Feel so much happier as a girl.
Hiya Elissa, Thanks for getting in touch, I seem fine on my hormones, certainly much better with every day that passes as a woman, and after two years on them I'm starting to notice little changes, that make me feel so good, things like more fat above my knees when I undress for bed. My implants are starting to get bounce into them and look more like natural boobs, it’s all so magic. I can't say I know what a regular dose of oestrogen would be, I started on 50mg patches, but my test came in on the low side, and I was getting hot flushes, about 6 months ago, so my doctor has me on 100mg. As for my sexuality, I have quite an eye for women, so still got Bi tendencies, but I am engaged now to a magic partner so, yes much like you heterosexual.
Not sure quite how to do a link to the Real Self video that inspires me on towards my GRS, but i'm told this might work. https://youtu.be/R9TGQIP-VLg . I must add that one thing I would just love to happen, would be for my gender reassignment operation to be filmed from start to finish.
Thank you so much for posting your expriences! You look wonderful!

Please ignore this post, I was just finding my feet. Also please note that Mr Graham is a qualified surgeon, he is showing on my profile heading, as a doctor (Dr). Just to say I really don't mean to be disrespectful, but I can’t figure out how to change it to Mr.
Congratulations Pippa, never too late to dream your dream. Blessings and Love sent your way all the way from California
Thanks Ginala, I appreciate your wonderful encouraging comment, support is magic, Mr Thomas did say it would be 6 months to my gender reassignment from the end of January this year, so it's just the wait for the call, hopefully sometime in May for a July date, Take Care Pippa x
So I'm going for breast augmentation I'm 68 years old in a couple of weeks so I'm thrilled that she's happy
