My first introductory post – Transgender Breast Augmentation
Hi, It’s so wonderful to discover Real Self, sorry to say my first attempt went a touch wrong, but here’s hoping I’m on track now. Anyway, you’re with pre-op transgender Philippa (Pippa) I was born back in June 1946, and live on the south coast of UK in Wimborne Minster, Dorset.
I have been with The Laurels, NHS, Transgender Clinic in Exeter, now for just over two years, after starting my pre-op transgender journey after having my breast implant surgery done by a truly wonderful surgeon, Mr Michael Graham at The Winterbourne Hospital, in Dorchester back in July 2011.
I had met him a month so as earlier for a consultation, after being recommended to him by a generic girlfriend, whose surgery had been done by him 4 years previous. I was so at ease and filled with confidence during the meeting and was so pleased that he accepted to do my surgery. Due to my small build, he told me the maximum implant my frame as he called it, could accept would be 290g. It was at 1pm on 5th July 2011 that I found myself entering theatre on my first stage of my transition journey.
One question girlfriends and acquaintances always ask is, was it painful? I can honestly reply to this that I just don’t know. I vaguely remember coming around after my operation, all that time ago, to find my bandaged bumps covering my two 290g Allergan filled boobs, but never associate any pain with it what so ever. I have been told that when some of us want something so bad, as I wanted my breasts, endorphins tend to kick in and shut out any pain. I’m sure this was certainly true for me.
It was certainly then after my breast implant operation, that my female true real-self emerged, and I started to live full time as the person I am today, in a lifestyle I thoroughly love and enjoy. My only regret being that I did not listen to my inner self much more earlier in my life.
I am now on the list with another of Britain’s top surgeons, Mr Thomas in Brighton for my Sex Reassignment Surgery, and had my first consultation with him and his team at the end of January 2018. This is such an exciting time for me, and I would love to thank this wonderful forum for providing me with an exciting inspiring video at https://youtu.be/R9TGQIP-VLg One thing I must add, is that I’ve always had quite a narcissistic photographic streak, so I hope I can contribute something back to the site, certainly in my early post-op days and months.

Provider Review
Dr Michael Graham
Mr Graham is a wonderful breast surgeon, with a great team behind him. With a full six years behind me I can not fault his work.
