I am 41 years old with 2 kids. I am 5’7 and my my current weight is 136 pounds. I used to be a 38dd and I decided to have breast reduction 18 years ago. I went down to a c cup. I lost 50 pounds 12 years ago and my breasts started to become droopy again.
Fast forward to 3 years ago...my doctor found a lump on my right breast at my yearly physical. I had a biopsy that came back as inconclusive and the doctor recommended a lumpectomy. I was very hesitant, but my husband talked me in to it fearing the worst. The results of the lumpectomy came back benign, most likely scar tissue from my reduction.
The lumpectomy left me very self conscious. It is very difficult to find a bra or clothing that fits now.
I have finally decided it is time to do something about it and my husband is completely supportive.
I went to 3 consults. Was not that impressed with the first 2 at all, but loved the 3rd surgeon!! And to my complete surprise my insurance has approved my surgery 100%!! The lift and both implants!! I was shocked, but so grateful!!
I have my surgery scheduled on 11/20.
I am getting so nervous. I am now obsessed with this app and picking out my favorites to show my doctor at my pre op visit in a couple days.
I haven’t seen any reviews with my previous history. Wondering if anyone else has went through the same thing?
My main concern is to be more symmetrical and I am thinking of going to a large d cup.
Any advice or suggestions?

1. Show your surgeon “wish pics” and ask if he has sizers (or implants) to try on. My own PS uses the actual implants (not just sizers) to help his patients determine what size to go with.
2. Be sure to also discuss desired breast shape/ratio (ie 45:55, 50:50, etc.) and areola size (ie 38mm, 42mm, etc). It’s not just about size, imho. A beautiful shape with nice areola size/plaement can create the appearance of a nice full breast as opposed to a large implant in a poorly shaped breast. If you don’t know much about breast shape (i.e. upper to lower pole breast ratio) Google the words “45:55 breast shape scientific study “to find articles and studies on the subject. You don’t necessarily have to agree with the findings but reading a few articles/studies will be helpful in your research.
3. Another thing to consider in combining a breast lift with implants is the weight/size of the implant can put stress on the breast lift incisions and impact the scar healing. And although “boob greed” may a reality for some people; there’s are also a number of us that felt they went too big. Not to mention it’s much easier to go up in size after-the-fact them down in size. For these reasons I personally recommend “erring on the small” when combining a breast lift with implants. Hopefully your PS recommend a safe size for you to go with.
Wishing you the very best. I look forward to following your progress.... :-)
