So Far So Good! - Winnipeg, MB

Last september, I went to a concert and was enjoying my time in the mosh pit where I got punched in the face, and they broke it. I decided to get the break fixed, because i felt like my nose no longer looked how it always did, not to mention that even before this break, i hated my nose. I wouldn't have gotten this done if it hadn't been broken, but i felt as if I needed to do this now, since I have the oppertunity, and also since it was caused by a traumatic event, it was covered by the healthcare here in Canada.
So for the procedure, all they were doing was straightening out my (now-crooked) nose and fixing the cartilage built up on the bridge of my nose. So, in other words: they were just reversing the damage caused by the break, to make my nose look closer to how it was before. Aka, a better version of the new-found broken nose.
Day one: Surgery went by so fast and easy, I was out of the O.R. within two hours, and stayed the very minimum in the Recovery room, they were impressed by how much of a trooper I was. The pain was not bad at all, only having to take two extra strength's all day. (The surgery was at 8 a.m.) No bruising anywhere, only slight swelling around my eyes, but not very noticeable. My nose did bleed when I walked around, but it wasn't too bad at all, just used a Q-tip when it dripped, instead of keeping the drip-pad on. Directly after the surgery, my nostrils looked off, but as the hours passed, they evened out perfectly before the day was even over! wonderful! I was very mobile and happy, a good day! (I had a few smokes, probably not a good idea, but I couldn't help it.)
Day two: Right now it's 9:17 a.m. and I woke up a few hours ago, swelling is a little bit more around my eyes, and under my eyes there is slight bruising, but it's still not very bad. I've been sneezing a lot today, and that is very uncomfortable, mostly because I'm scared that it could wreck something. My nose isn't bleeding much today, only when my blood pressure went up for a second when having a disagreement with someone, otherwise it's just runny since I have a cold.
*More to come*

Day three: Today was pretty good, I woke up...
Day four: Today was horrible, the stitch that came undone really hurts, and I can't smile or eat. My boyfriend forced me to eat a few pickle slices, but that was about all i could get down since it hurts to open my mouth. The bruising is the same, and the swelling came up in my face and I look a little chip-monkey. I dont want to take any pictures, sorry. Still regularly smoking.
Day five: I felt great this morning, and went early this morning to get the cast off. It kind of hurt when she took it off, but it was quick and easy so it wasn't bad at all. The swelling in my nose makes my nose look awful, it's too wide at the top and I hate it, but looking forward to tomorrow to see how it goes.
Day six: The swelling went down in my nose like crazy, and now it looks lovely! My nose looks pretty much the same as it did before, but now the bridge is straight instead, and I love it! I didn't want much changed so I'm glad it looks how it does: Definetely pleased, and worth it :)
Will post pictures of my nose before/after once I get my camera back!

Thanks for sharing here on RealSelf. I'm sure you don't want to hear this, but please be careful with the smoking! It can really affect your outcome for the worse.
You look beautiful with the cast on, so I can only imagine how you will look when it comes off. Yay that health insurance came through!
Looking forward to hearing more about your recovery. :)
