Over the last 12 years I have had 5 surgeries in my gut region. The last two were 12 days apart. They said my insides were a complete mess and I have a TON of adhesions. My small intestine was attached to my uterus and my bladder. They removed 8 feet of it in November. I had a huge flap that made me really self conscious. I lost 20 pounds before I got so sick and another 27 pounds after I got sick and my stomach didn't really change even though I went down two pant sizes. People kept saying oh, just go to the gym and you will lose it. No, no I won't. It would have been impossible for me.

I left my husband in April and on our wedding anniversary in June I just decided to apply to the surgical center for a tummy tuck and breast augmentation. This clinic won't accept all patients because they want to make sure people are doing it for the right reasons. I hadn't even thought about a tummy tuck before. I am not sure what made me do it but I am so glad I did.

Fast forward to this past wednesday, my surgery date. I was very nervous. The staff at the clinic were amazing all around. I walked out of there feeling skinny for the first time in a long time even though I am not skinny. The difference is amazing already even though I am completely swollen and wearing 3 binders for the next 4 weeks. My confidence was fairly high except for these two areas but holy heck it has already gone through the roof. I can't wait until I heal. I am going to be vunerable here and post pictures because 3 days post op the results are already amazing. She also removed most of my huge scar. I can't wait to see my new tummy.

I have very little pain from my tummy area. I did have muscle repair but I am taking pain meds regularily. I am going back to work tomorrow at my own pace for 2 days before i start my normal 12 hour shifts Monday. I sit at a desk doing paperwork and sitting is the easiest for me right now.

If you are on the fence about having this done take a look at the pictures people are posting. That was when i realized how much this would actually affect my life.

I still have some twinges, lots of swelling but I went out last night and my friend made me put on something more form fitting and I looked good. I am going to have to change my wardrobe LOL.
