Extremely Happy with Tummy Tuck! - Winnipeg, Canada

UPDATED FROM 6055angelaw

5 years later

WORTH IT$7,000
So it's been 5 years later and still very happy with tummy tuck. I'd probably be happier if I had not gained weight!! But lesson learned!! I realize when you gain weight after a tummy tuck, it goes to other areas of body where fat cells need to be filled (most tummy ones removed during surgery). So now I have BIG hips and cellulite butt I'm working at working off. Had gone through some stress and did stress eating so weight came on. Won't do that again. At 46 it's not easy. But here's my new picture, 46 yrs old, 5 years after surgery and 16 pounds heavier (but not for long)!! :).

Up date on before picture

I was just sent a message about if I needed my stomach muscles tightened for my tummy tuck. The answer was no, because of working out I had very tight muscles and my abs were back to normal. Now in the before picture of the night before my surgery, in my black shorts and purple top, it looks horrible, but it's a close up. All that skin was actually tucked into my jeans all the time. I'm attaching a before picture taken 3 mths before my tummy tuck where I was in jeans and tank top......it looks no where near the night before picture, different angle and yes, all the skin tucked in. My results are still the same, my stomach flat as a board 3 years later, very happy.

I am having a TT with Dr. Lockwood this July and very nervous. I was wondering if you had staples or sutures to close your incision?
I'm sorry I didn't see your message till now. I had sutures. How was your surgery? I just updated my 5 year photo.

You look absolutely stunning your tummy is gorgeous!!!!! Cannot wait for a year to see my final results :D [RS bleep]
I am two weeks from My surgery. Very excited and nervous at the same time. He said no drains are needed for me either. I hope my results and recovery are as good as yours.
Congrats - I am here in wpg and just had surgery on the 10. Hoping I look as great as you do.
So excited for you!! I am sure you are going to look amazing, can't wait to see pictures! Honestly I have had some adjustments last two years.....I find I gained weight easier and was harder to loose. So be very careful with diet, it takes awhile for body to adjust while healing. I am finally once again weighing in less then what I did on my surgery date....I don't want to ruin this amazing Job DR Lockwood did!
Thanks for the advice.... I will be careful. The drains come out tomorrow so I will see what I look like. Nervous rand exited all at the same time.
Good luck, I can't wait to see your progress:) If you aren't taking them already, I suggest getting Arnica Tablets. I had very little swelling ( i started taking them weeks before surgery and continued after). It reduces swelling quick, reduces bruising and heals the tissue. Vita Health sells them. It's an amazing herb!
Thanks for the info - I am all over reducing swelling. I can tell I am very swollen even with this band on
It's very emotional and over whelming seeing the incision and having the pressure garment off the very first time. I almost fainted. Lol. My pic with the panty liners across my incision was 9 days out (garment was being washed) and you can see no swelling The panty Liners help protect the incision from rubbing on cloths. ( if it wasn't already suggested to you)
You look awesome what is your scar like now after a year has it faded do you notice it still? Thanks :)
