It's now almost 3 months since my PRK surgery. I have had significant visual loose, this greatly accentuated at night. My eyes constantly feel pain. Post surgery I was told I was an ideal candidate for the procedure. When I asked about risks, my doctor replied there's only temporary risks during the first three month after that they all go away. Only now I know it was too good to be true.

My surgeon recommended I cease the use of artificial tears drops. I have also been proscribed Tobradex. On the same day, a different doctor, rushed me in to see a corneal specialist that afternoon. Although a punctal plug has failed to resolve the issue, I appreciate the specialist's continuing effort.

I'm glad to hear you have seen a speicialist. Have they said if there are other things that could be done to help?

PRK usually takes longer time to heal and more discomfort, which should have been told before your surgery. 3 mons might be a little too soon for some patients. would like to learn what will happen later.

Please people, don't get duped by the presentation of degrees and education. All the research in the world won't save you from bad doctors out for money.

Dr. (and I use that term loosely) Desikan Kadambi should not be practicing. He was originally practicing in Brandon MB as an "eye specialist" and after butchering several people, moved his practice to Winnipeg MB. As a child from the ages of 9 to 12 !/2, he gave me steroids for over 4 and 1/2 years, for no apparent reason, other than greed; to be able to bill MB health. He told my mother that I had a few inflammatory cells in my eye and to take these eye drops to clear things up. He doled this stuff out like candy. The steroids he gave me left me with both optic nerves very damaged (as well as the lenses, and more). I am now facing permanent blindness due to complete negligence from this so-called, "doctor" I have since learned that steroids should never be given to children unless highly monitored and for only about 10 days, at most. Even adults have to be closely monitored and they only get them for a MAXIMUM of 3 months for a specific reason, such as surgery or maybe a severe allergic reaction. Can you imagine being given these for OVER 4 AND HALF YEARS as a child !!!?? There was nothing wrong with my eyes until this Bastxxx got his hands on me. If you are smart, don't believe this man's pumped up stories and lies. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS GUY. He should not be practicing!! If my mother had known the truth about what he had really done to me, she would have sued his butt off, but he never told the truth about what happened and we only found out the truth years later, when the symptoms presented themselves. My eye are a complete mess and I have been diagnosed with "severe steroid damage" Do yourself a favor and RUN from this guy.
I'm so sorry to hear about what you are dealing with. Has your doctor offered any options to help correct the problems?
