3.5 weeks post op

Went back to the gym for the first time yesterday. Was able to do some light cardio and like machines. Feeling pretty good most days still experiencing minor fatigue on some. My swelling is still pretty noticeable although in the past few days I've noticed the tops of my breasts to be less full.my incisions are healing nicely I've been applying lotion as well as neosporin to the scars. I'm hoping in another few weeks my swelling will go down to the point I can buy some new real bras. Still very pleased with my results! No back pain & no neck pain at all.

2 weeks post op

I'm 2 weeks post op and had my first follow up with the PS. He said that everything looks great and I'm healing nicely. I'm to continue wearing my surgical bra at all times and to start applying neosporin to my incisions. I've been very, very sore this week mainly in the top of my breasts. It feels like a sunburn and the skin is stretched. Every now and then I have sharp pains in various places on my breasts and nipples but overall just a feeling of soreness. I have I've been working from home all week so I haven't been as exhausted because I don't have to get ready in the morning. Next week will be the real test when I return to my actual office. I'm still thrilled with them even though they're super swollen. Healing slowly but surely!

I've had large breasts since I was 13 yrs old. I...

I've had large breasts since I was 13 yrs old. I remember getting made fun of by boys all through high school for them and for having hard nipples a lot. As I aged and gained extra pounds, my C breasts grew into D breasts, and ended up as full DD's over the past few years. My motivation was three prong for having the reduction. 1) I had started having neck pain, headaches, and lower back pain. 2) When shopping for clothes I had a hard time finding tops that were proportional. XL's fit my breasts but hung everywhere else. 3) I felt like when people met me, the first thing they noticed were my breasts despite my wardrobe of V-neck and wrap tops, minimizer bras, and smoothing camis. A friend of mine had the surgery back in September and when she told me about her experience I was sold. The very next day I scheduled an appointment with her PS and when he examined me he said "man you hide those things well". I laughed and told him I've had LOTS of practice. When he asked if I had to think about the surgery I said no way, lets book it.

The day of surgery and the surgery itself was pretty uneventful. I arrived at the hospital, got all the pre-op stuff done (IV, meet with anesthesiologist, etc) and a few hours later was wheeled into surgery. The hospital was running behind so the only thing that I could complain about was being starved (didn't go into surgery until 1pm and had to be there at 9:45am). I had previously told everyone under the sun in the hospital about my fear of being nauseated/vomiting coming off the anesthesia so they gave me some extra meds as a precaution. Unfortunately the combination of the anesthesia and pain meds they gave me made me very sick all night long. I got sick twice and couldn't keep anything down other than ice. The next day I was released in the morning after my PS cleared me with Keflex and Norco prescriptions. The next two days were a fog of sleeping an hour and then waking up and then falling back asleep but I was very nauseated and unable to take the Norco. I switched to Tylenol Extra Strength and the nausea subsided. By day 3, Sunday, I was able to shower and see the girls for the first time out of the surgical bra. Wow! What a difference! I was a little scared to look at them but so glad I did. I love them!!

I was able to go back to teleworking on Tuesday, 5 days post op. I've worked every day this week and have found myself to be a bit tired at the end of the day but not in any type of unbearable pain. I think the worst part of the whole procedure thus far was the nausea and headache I had from the anesthesia/pain meds. The other thing I'm having trouble adjusting to is sleeping elevated on my back but I've finally found a way I can sleep with my head to the side that's working a bit better. My follow up is Monday with my PS and I'm looking forward to having the surgical strips removed. I have some swelling and currently having sharp pains through my nipples every now and then but I'm sure it's just the nerves coming back. Overall to this point I am 100% satisfied with the reduction and can't wait for the swelling to go down and start wearing all my cute new bras!
