Ok, so really am q nervous to post my before pics as the Clincheck Starting point absolutely horrifies me - I can't look like that, surely? Wow.

Got the aligners today, first of 54 (I know, I KNOW!). My ortho added about 20 stages after I said I wanted to use Invisalign.

Hasn't been so bad so far, a small lisp which I am hoping won't last long, and my teeth feel itchy on the inside, it's weird! But glad I've made the decision to sort these bad boys out.

Will update horrendous "before" photos when I'm feeling a bit braver, as hopefully will be able to look back on them and laugh (one hopes!).

Thank you for sharing your story. Posting your 'before' photos is very brave (and also totally optional), but many members of this community have expressed how great it is to see the progress of their treatment through their photos.

Hi there! I had to comment, I was so nervous to put up my before pictures originally too. Even now looking back I'm a little embarrassed I had teeth like mine for so long :) keep taking photos you'll be able to keep track of how far you've come :)

Ok, you've encouraged me. Hopefully I'll be one of those gorgeous "after" pictures :)

Day 1 was fine, day 2 my teeth hurt, now on day 3 and my tongue is all cut up and mouth is sore. It has to be uphill from here, right? ????

I am sure the pain and discomfort will be worth it in the end!
Does your treatment plan include any extractions or IPR (teeth shaving)?

Yes! I have an extraction before tray 3, when the attachments are put on. That is what I am most nervous about as hate the dentist! But the clincheck is amazing motivationz

Oh, and yes I have quite a lot of IPR but I'm not too worried about that, it's a bit of filing, isn't it? I haven't read from anyone who has been in any pain so I think that's an "all in the mind" thing, so will just breathe deep!
February 5, 2016
Absolutely Jodie, when I did my IPR i just closed my eyes and let the shaving happen. It's much better if you dont look because eventhough its painless you end up psyching yourself out.

Day 5 - getting better

Finally getting the hang of it now! Tongue still a bit sore but putting Anbesol on it and feel like I am #winning at Invisalign now. Bring on the extraction in 3 weeks - eek!
