Whew...where do I start? I am happily married mommy of 5 children ranging from 21-3 yrs of age . I work in the healthcare field and have worked beside some of the PS that I am considering to perform my surgery. I currently weigh approx 172 lbs and am 5' 5" tall. I am working with my endocrinologist to assist me with the last 40 lbs I need/want to lose prior to my surgery that I will have in the spring. Yes, I am a HUGE planner and I have to be with my huge family/chaotic schedules. Scheduling my surgery so far in advance give me a "goal date" to focus on to encourage me to work hard physically, emotionally, and financially to get this done.

The surgeries I am going to have is double chin reduction (big genetic factor/small jaw chin),breast lift and augmentation, and tummy tuck/liposuction. I go on consultations w/ some local surgeons on October 5th and go to Raleigh for a few more on October 7th. Depending on how those go, I very well may be slapping down a deposit and picking a date really soon :)

Due to my profession I will not post pics of my "full face" but will post pics of "the goodies" because I know looking at all the before and after pics assists others in determining if they actually LIKE the RESULTS of the surgeon they are considering. Wish me luck ..will post soon

Oh wow thats great . I am in the same shoes YOU are in wanting this with a big family and trying to fit it in. I and am happy for you. I am a mother of 8 and trying to find the right date is driving me crazy . They are year round and am afraid I won't have enough time to heal. I THINK WE will be fine. It will be sometime early next year when I get my TT. I would love to join you on your journey .

Does anyone suffer with mommy guilt?

pjcwallace
Okay, I can rationalize that I "shouldn't" feel guilty about spending so much money on non-essential/elective surgery but dear lord I have to continuously have an internal monologue to support my own decision to HAVE a surgery that will assist my confidence. I am THAT mom that puts back a new pack of hanes underwear (yeah pitiful I know) for myself so my kids can have a new toy or a special treat. I have lived at the beach for 15 yrs and haven't own/worn a bathing suit since 2003. I have hid from pictures...well life for so long I am almost scared to even try to do something to put me into the spotlight I have tried to avoid for over 10 yrs .

Again I can rationalize that I shouldn't feel this way and am working on stopping my own self defeating internal garbage, just wondering if anyone else has/is going through these emotions while preparing for their surgeries?

Oh lord yes! I am going through it too! I am the same as you, i haven't scheduled anything yet because I am struggling with that. I already have the money to do it but I feel guilty and feel like the money should go to something more important. :( I have mixed emotions about it but hopefully I can get through this and go through with it. I also have thyroid problems and I have worked hard to lose 32 lbs and I want to look good without all the loose skin and sagging boobs so I have to convince myself this surgery is a must! Or is it? Uhhh

Had 1st Consult with Dr Davis in Raleigh NC

pjcwallace
I was very impressed with Dr Davis' office, personality, and knowledge base. I was actually surprised that he did not recommend implant augmentation with breast lift which would of been another $5000 plus charge. He was very humble but astute in his recommendations. I was very impressed when he not only answered my questions but also my husband's questions thoroughly. Price tag was not a "shocker" but his charges are in the higher end of the spectrum I was prepared to hear. I am seeing 2 PS next week in the Wilmington area for consults. It would be nice to have PS local but I am looking for quality not just convenience. I am hoping to make a decision and put down deposit no later than the first of November and scheduling for late Feb/March for surgery :)

I have only seen Dr.Morea but am thinking of seeing Dr. Kreymerman in Jacksonville. Dr. Morea has done some amazing working but he is pricey and his office quoted more than the intial estimate..and that was with a discount soooo...Im still looking as well. I will let you know what I find out.
