I finally got my drains removed. I cannot be more excited. They were just in the way of everything I was trying to do. Finally got a good night rest after not having a worry about the tubes being in the way. Making progress.

Well I sat and I thought about the entire process. It was a rough Journey. I had my surgery done at Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington Delaware. I wouldn't recommend a dog going there. Day one I remember coming out of surgery and my throat was bothering me because of the tube they had while I was under anesthesia. The corners of my lips were cracked. And my throat was sore. My pain was managed with morphine. The hardest thing was trying to get up and staying at a decent position because I was bent over from trying not to disrupt the abdominal incision. Every time I would walk to the bathroom with the assistance I became extremely short of breath and that is because of the fluid volume that was removed during the liposuction for Brazilian butt lift. I was there for 23 hours and I was glad to be going home. Wilmington Hospital during the first night did not even feed me dinner after I have been NPO since midnight before. My surgery was for 11 a.m. I woke up around 4 p.m. Luckily my family bought me something to eat. Wilmington Hospital didn't even have my night medications and being a nurse thank God I bought my medications which included Lipitor 80 milligrams for high cholesterol. I have to say this has been an interesting Journey. After the first week I was ready to have my JP drains removed only to find out they could not be removed because I had too much volume which was approximately 75 CC's per drain. Dr. Ian was wonderful with answering all the questions I and my daughter had. Believe me she grilled him.lol. He has beautiful bedside manners. my girl doing was there to assist him with the exam. She was very comforting I swear the part of the healing process was difficult because of these JP drains and the location of the drains. I had two drains located in my supra pubic area. It's hard to wear underwear because of the location. It was very difficult the first week trying to get sleep because of the location of the drains and not trying to disturb to drains. Without the support of my children I don't know how I would be able to do it alone. Tomorrow I'm more than excited to get my JP drains removed. My ambulatory status increased as time goes along. There is still numbness in my abdomen and back. There's a still a significant amount of swelling in my abdomen, buttocks , and back. I now see that a abdominal plasty is a very serious surgery and the healing process takes some time. This is coming from a woman who had five children vaginally with never having a c-section. To take the cake what pissed me off is that during this process of the healing all I did was sneeze and cough . I wasn't sneezing and coughing before but now all of a sudden since I had the surgery I kept sneezing and coughing every day . I guess it takes time for the body to readjust to the changes . I know I just rambled on. Once I get these drains out I will be able to post a picture afterwards.
