So sorry to hear about the swelling and feeling uncomfortable, Jodinewme! {{HUGS}} I hope that goes away very soon! I have read where others have felt like you emotionally. Maybe you can do a search to find other people who have posted about their anxiety/depression/etc? I saw a question asked for the doctors and they said that it happens a lot. If you feel like talking to your PS or your family doctor, that may help. I heard that it won't last, but is definitely something that happens. You had major surgery and your ability to do what you usually do is challenged. That can cause depression also.
I've read also where others had numbness that lasted a bit longer than some other ladies. It came back, but something I've noticed so I will be aware in case it happens to me. I want to thank you for sharing the "real" experience of what is going on with you! I think so many people think they are all alone when they don't see other people posting what they are really going through.

Thanks for updating and sharing your before photos! I am excited to see your 'after' photos when YOU are ready. Don't worry about posting your after photos until you feel ready. This is YOUR journey and we are just here to support you! Continued Happy Healing! I hope that you start to feel much better and get very excited about your new tummy! I want to get my neck lipo'ed also, but I have to do everything in stages. I have Type I Diabetes and risk of DVT. So very nervous!

Well, guess what I too DVT risk. My primary care physician prescribed 14 days of lovenox shots immediately following my surgery. Gave myself the injections in my upper belly right under my bra line away from the tummy tuck...Doc said it still needed to be in my belly........ It was all I could do to pinch enough skin! I also had heparin in my IV DURING surgery. IT all worked out. Thanks for your kind words.

HI Leashea. I hope you had a successful Gastric bypass. It took me a while to get up enough nerve to go through another BIG surgery (Tummy tuck, lipo and chin lipo.) I am still swelling, and having weird sensations a numb and soreness in all the Lipo areas. My blessings in your search for tummy tuck info and connections on RealSelf. If it weren't for this site....I may not have gone through with it! GOOD LUCK

Hey all. I am feeling my recovery is going fairly good. I have been a little weepy today..I suppose it is time for antidepressant. I have had two showers now...and only peeking at this cut, swollen, black and blue, drain carrying mess. I want to slowly adjust as 45 years of tummy is GONE overnight. Yes at 5 years old I was conscience of my tummy. My first post op appointment is tomorrow. ...I sure hope the drains come out. The drainage is becoming less and less...only 15cc..In each at a six hour period. Only taking pain meds, twice in 24 hours...doing fine that way. I'm sure tomorrow. ..I may take 3! Our drive is an hour and 1/2 one way to doctors office...happy healing everyone.

Wow! The drive sounds long! How did you do? That is great that your pain isn't where you need to take a lot of pain meds. I've read that the weepy and some mood swings are normal. I hope that you told your PS. I've also read where most PS give anti anxiety pills. I'm guessing for anxiety and to help the pain meds do their job? Not sure though. Hope you are doing great now and that the pain is tolerable. Looking forward to updates and any photos that you want to share. I find out next week if I can schedule my tt surgery or have to wait another three months. Continued Happy Healing!

day two post op...

Hi ladies. .I'm two days on the flat side...doing pretty good. I had a moment of nausea.....OM G...warning to all...THE PAIN WAS EXCRUCIATING. .. While throwing up. The only other weird thing was right after surgery...I was getting up to pee..and my throat closed off..scary...it only happened twice and was in hospital when it happened. So had nurses on it right away. This morning I took MOM...drank tea and water. I am getting concerned about the poo..part. have burning sensations. ..but motivating around....not brave enough to look under bandages...yet...surprisingly not looking forward to shower. And I thought I might be anxious for shower. I have great help....oh has anyone just not felt hungry??...I thought not eating since MONDAY night I would be famished....anyone like this?

Thanks for the warning! So sorry that you had to throw up! {{{HUGS}}} I guess your nausea could have made you not hungry. My PS said that having muscle repair and tt would decrease your appetite also, so I'm wondering if all the squishing of the muscle repair did that for you too? At least you aren't starving and can't eat. Hope you could drink to not get dehydrated.
