How I chose my surgeon: I have wanted breast...
How I chose my surgeon:
I have wanted breast augmentation for literally over 12 years now...when I realized puberty had set in and I was given my mother's legs and my father's chest ;) Being a college athlete and now fitness professional probably has not enhanced my ability to maintain fat tissue, but I still longed to feel more proportionate, more confident, more like a woman! I decided that if I was going to do it, I wanted a darn good procedure (who wouldn't?!). I believe when researching plastic surgeons, women are very sold on before & after pictures. Initially I was emailing several docs in LA and San Diego, all very reputable and Board certified surgeons. But I wasn't feeling the genuine excitement nor concern I would want by me displaying interest in their practice. And why would I? BA out in Cali has got to be like brushing your teeth...everyone does it, very routine, hello goodbye, has a safe flight home! I decided that wasn't the treatment for me. I wanted a closer relationship with my doc, and felt as though Dr. Matthew Conrad (Wichita, KS Plastic Surgery) truly had my best interests at heart. Not to mention he was here in Wichita which was comforting and reassuring, should I need anything. Our initial consultation together was my deciding factor. I loved his enthusiasm, protocols for strict hygiene before, during, and after surgery, and his genuine concern and attentiveness.
The evening before surgery and the next few days post-op, Dr. Conrad and his nurses called and texted me daily from their personal cell phones to check on me. Another unbelieveable factor that sets his team apart: within his practice, they have never had to order prescription-strength pain medication for breast augmentation procedures during recovery. I only took ibuprofen and that was only for the first 5 days post-op!
I was a size 36AA pre-op, and decided to go with 440cc Sientra silicone cohesive gel ("gummy bear implants"); smooth rounds moderate profile; inframammary incision; currently 5 months post-op, I am sized at a 34D...and I absolutely love my results! I highly recommend Dr. Conrad and his team.
