6 weeks post-op bra shopping!
I can finally wear underwire bras again!

At age 21, I was 98 lbs and a 32D. I have since become a mother to three boys and with each baby I lost a cup size leaving me with nothing - like just ribs, no boobs, nothing. After breastfeeding my youngest for 13 months, I felt I had earned my boobs back!
I was a bit surprised when I called to schedule my consultation. The receptionist made me so comfortable I felt as though I was simply scheduling a haircut rather than a surgery! I was able to get an appointment within a couple of weeks and I appreciated not having to wait forever to get in. Everyone in the office was very friendly, professional, and informative.
Dr. Conrad is an absolute perfectionist; do not go in thinking you're going to tell him what to do. He will be very straightforward if he feels your implant choice/size is not right for you. He does an extensive amount of measuring to ensure that you will get the perfect implant for your frame and preferences. When I left the office, I was asked to come to this website and pick out two “favorites” so I could give him an idea of what I was hoping for at my next appointment.
At my next pre-op appointment, we decided to go with a 300cc round silicone implant. Dr. Conrad took a great deal of time looking at my before photos and measurements and considering our options.
On surgery day, I really appreciated that the staff was so polite and reassuring. The night before, I was thinking that perhaps I would rather go with the 325cc rather than the 300cc, so I asked Dr. Conrad about it when he came to see me in pre-op. I could tell that he was displeased with my wanting to change things at the last minute, so I told him I was sorry and to do whatever he thought would look best. I woke up with 325cc’s so he must have felt that this was acceptable. There is no way Dr. Conrad would perform a surgery that would not make his patient look their very best.
I was able to do the majority of my everyday tasks aside from lifting over 20 pounds on surgery day. One of my post-op instructions was to go out to dinner with my husband that night which I did with no trouble, we even walked around the mall a bit afterward. I did not take a single prescription pain pill throughout my recovery, ibuprofen was sufficient. My breasts were very hard and tight at first and felt like they were under a lot of pressure. With each week, I could tell my boobs were beginning to “calm down” as they were a bit high and firm.
A week after surgery, I went for my first post-op so Dr. Conrad could check my scars and the nurse showed me how to apply steri strips. At 6 weeks, I came for my next post-op appointment where the nurse checked things over to make sure everything looked like it should. Later during this appointment we discussed scar therapy. I was offered a silicone gel which I did purchase but I am already very impressed with the tiny scars under my breasts, they are a bit noticeable now but it’s only been six weeks, I expect them to become barely visible over the next few months.
I am now six weeks out and I could not be happier. I looked back at my favorite RealSelf website picture and I like my new boobs even more than the ones I had chosen, they are absolutely fabulous! At my pre-op, I was 98 lbs and a 32A, after being released to wear underwire bras again, I went to Victoria’s Secret and now measure 32DD. They Look AMAZING! They are even better than I had hoped for. I have also gained confidence and branched out in my clothing style as I no longer feel like I need to hide in boring clothes all the time. I am so glad I had my surgery with Dr. Conrad, if I had it to do over again I wouldn’t change a thing.
P.S. I also got Botox to help with my frown lines at my first pre-op appointment. It has been so nice to no longer be a victim of “resting B-face.” Others have noticed that I look happier which makes me appear more friendly and approachable; this is not always the case for those of us cursed with resting B-Face. It’s also nice to look in the mirror in the morning and look refreshed rather than really irritated when I’m not actually irritated. I highly recommend it
